This song is depressing as hell, and just as scary. It's also an awesome tune. Like your dad said, some of it has either come to pass, or is on the near horizon. It both amazes and scares me, what we are capable of as a species.

Someone paired 2525 with clips from silent film Metropolis 1927 with 2525. The film is nearly 100 yrs old. Search Metropolis 1927 with 2525 watch it, then watch the 1927 movie the clips came from. You’ll be shocked how much the 2 belong together.

Interesting that the father seems to miss the irony of being a military guy and promoting such a destructive force as the military complex and also having the totally opposite message hanging on the wall of “One Love”. Such obvious blindness and the destructive forces that comes from such blindness is the message of In The Year 2525.
