X Japan is´t only maybe the most popular Japan group worldwide, is also the band who puts a milestone in Japanese music. There´s music "before" and "after" X-Japan. In some ways you can think in X-japan as the "Japan´s Beatles". When X-Japan starts, they put a lot of makeup and strange hair following the glam style un UK. I Those times Japan´s society was very traditional. Even get you hair dyed blonde was a motive for the police to ask you. Music was classic or melodic. Only a few groups follow the rock and roll not to mention metal from outside the country. They changes everything. Also, Yoshiki have a very solid and strong classic foundations. He can play a lot of instruments besides piano and of course drums. He even write the songs over a score, no joke. He puts on a score every note, every drum beat or guitar sound. In Japan Yoshiki´s status as a musician if very high. X-Japan is still active, not a lot because his health problems. Neck and back problems after years of banging drums a some other issues. He goes under surgery some times and even have one of his neck disk changed. Silent jealousy is one of their popular song, so should check their song called "kurenai" from the last live 1997 it's powerfull performance. Another crazy track is "Art Of Life" with 30 minutes duration of prog/power metal by X Japan. Great reaction and review

Thanks for reacting to X Japan. Everyone can argue who is the best band in japan, but everyone will agree (in Japan), X Japan is the biggest ever. Time magazine says that X japan is the most unfortunate band in the world (they have lost two member due to "dramatic" circumstances, leader/drummer/pianist Yoshiki lost his father at 10 due to suicide leads him to banging drums instead of things), meanwhile Gene Simmons (Kiss) says if they were born in the US and sing in English, they will be the biggest band ever. Silent Jealosy is a good pick for a random! One of the truly great groups that all of the Japanese musicians adore!!!! You want to know how beloved this group was try Endless Rain (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKXZfqqjhcZ1r8k) one of the final appearances before they broke up!! Listen to the emotional response of the crowd and how they continue singing the song after the band leaves the stage....you can't get devotion like that from a band that doesn't have total love from their fans. LIVE was the only way to experience this band, their performances are legendary and anything you want to try will blow you away!!!

Biggest band in Japan. I will never understand how they could have these bad videos 😂 Even the few new ones they did are too weird. I am with everyone else here: Art of Life if you can spare 30 minutes. The 'Cowboy dude' was Taiji the bassist. He left the band later due to problems with other band members and was replaced by Heath. My favorite song is Rose of Pain. There are two acoustic versions from the Aoi Yoru/Shiroi Yoru nights that I would like to recommend if you ever wanted to see them in that setting. This was a really cool reaction and I had to comment even though this video is a bit older now. I hope you don't mind ^^

I brought their music book when I was young, and I remember seeing those double bass drum notes like waves, he didn’t just 16bits all the way, it has lots of 12, 14 bits in between mix, super hard so I gave up 😂

Funny thing is art of life was slept on for sooooo damn long, before the documentary nobody ever gave that song recognition on KZbin. It’s been my favourite song for a long time now, extremely difficult to top.
