Hello girls, very nice too see young ones checking out early rock and roll. Wether one is an Elvis fan or not he is the one artist that really put rock and roll on the map forever. He was a huge influence on the then teenage Beatles, think about that. Without him The Beatles would have been different and maybe never had a chance, he opened the door for everyone one. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and so many others. We can't fully appreciate what the man did for popular culture, especially here in the states. Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. i saw him numerous times he was amazing he was not only my friend but a big brother as well. I never will get over his death it haunts me everyday seeing him in video's dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed he said kiddo everything will be okay i said E. nothing will ever be okay again, i was crying so hard he gave me a little kiss on the cheek and said i love ya kiddo always remember that okay i said love ya too E. that was the last time i saw my friend alive again. Classic rock was based on the same song writing format of masters like Beethoven, Handel and Mozart. The Beatles changed music forever, not just with the music, but the mass marketing of music was created because of The Beatles. The Beatles was the first group to fill a stadium (many acts followed). The Beatles also ushered in the "British Invasion" with groups like the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. The Beatles often experimented with sounds in the studio and drove promoters crazy by writing songs that weren't "radio friendly" (radio friendly songs were supposed to be no longer than three minutes). Led Zeppelin very much followed the style of The Beatles in the studio and both bands were highly influential.

Hi Girls, Elvis was phenomenal and I know Elvis is known worldwide but since I'm American we think of him as our first real King of Rock 'n' Roll but there were so many others, mainly Black artists, who predated it all by introducing the world to Blues which jump started Rock 'n' Roll. Some of those artists are Howlin' Wolf, Big Joe Turner and Robert Johnson, but he was the Best. One of his better videos would be him doing Little Richards song "Ready Teddy" on the Ed Sullivan show

Elvis said rock and roll started with the blues, sung by slaves in the cotton fields and evolving eventually into rhythm and blues then rock.His peers at the time such as Chuck Berry called Elvis the king of rock and roll for a reason. Elvis' style was a mix of pop country, rhythm blues and gosel..whole new way of singing.His style was so fresh and unique that he sold zillions of records and inspired black and white artists and even changed our culture. He is the king..just not the originator of rock. He also stated that.When you are recognized by musicians, song writers, and engineers etc snd they give you the name king, it is because they recognized his abilities and influence. By calling him king, they are not saying he originated rock and roll.He deserves the title.He has sold about 2 billion recordings..so many they have lost count.Unlike Michael Jackson who followed friend and movie star Elizabeth Taylor's suggestion, Jackson named himself king of pop, His artist peers did not. Elvis' peers named him king. Elvis is THE big bang of music.When he exploded o the music sce e, music exploded with him...an historically recognized fact and anyone wanting to change history cannot. History has already occured and passed and recorded for all time. It cannot be changed to suit anybody's whim.
