As I sit here, drinkin' my coffee (don't confuse that with the time of day!), I grin! The facial expressions tell the story! :) And yeah, that was 6yrs ago --- he's gotten much better, added a few, and sharpened up a bit. Now, he does this every show while the guys are on break. And to experience this (actually the whole thing) LIVE in person ---- it messes with yer head ... A LOT!!!!

@LoRyder3 жыл бұрын
Yep, That was 6 years ago, and he just keeps getting better. You don't have to react to it, but if you want to watch a newer one, look up the "Adam Rupp's amazing drum solo with Home Free Tifton, Ga 3-16-18", or the "Home Free - Dive Bar Saints CD Release Party - Adam Rupp Beatboxing Solo - 07-22-2019". He's just amazing. All of these will be fan-shot videos on cell phones, so won't be perfect quality, but WOW, so good! I can't wait to see them for the first time next month. Thanks for the great reaction!

Great reaction! I believe the term vocal percussionist has been used for Adam, since beatboxer doesn't quite capture his talent...he is amazing. This is an earlier video...he has increased his skills tenfold. Thanks!

Years of playing the trumpet when he was young taught him the breath control he'd need for routines like this. He had drum lessons enough to get the movements right.

I absolutely love watching Adam break people's brains when they watch these drum solos! Your expressions were priceless! As many others have stated, he's only gotten better and added to his repertoire! A fun video showing some of his newer sounds is The Sea Shanty Medley. Not only is Adam awesome in that one, it's just a fun and funky version of the sea shanty's that were all the rage on TikTok this past year. Home Free actually separated the different Shanty's and asked people to duet them on TikTok. There were actually some pretty good ones. Great reaction!

So glad you saw this. Home Free doesn’t need instruments when you have Adam. He’s so damn good and didn’t even do the harmonica and castanets. Yeah I think he swallowed a drum kit. Good reaction!

He's a drummer and can play the trumpet which probably accounts for is ability to hold alot of air. When you research him, he's very humble and quiet. A true talent!

If you check out the newer drum solos from their Dive Bar Saints tour, 2021-2022, you'll hear how much he has improved since this masterpiece. Perfection then, perfection now. There's also another one out from this time period where the crowd does the Say 1, Say 2, but instead of copying the scratching for 3 they just say 3, then 4 without out prompting. That one is just as funny. Adam's face is priceless. Like your reactions to my favorite group. Love 'em!
@teresacartwright54062 жыл бұрын
Adam Rupp took jazz drumming and when you watch most of the Home Free videos, he plays imaginary drums when he's beatboxing - he's just amazing, You know just how much he's practiced just by watching his shoulder muscles - he'd give a lot of body-builders a run for the money. Absolutely gob-smacking . . . (hey, I'm Canadian - that's a real phrase . . . )

Adam learned to actually play drums at the beginning of Home Free, so his performances would be authentic. One reactor, who is a professional drummer, says Adam is well respected by professionals because he doesn't make drum sounds or patterns that a real drummer wouldn't.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I've watched this video over 100 times. I'm 70 years old and before I discovered Home Free about 6 months ago, a cappella music and beatboxing were nowhere on my radar. Now I'm an addicted Home Fry especially Adam and downloading Home Free videos and Adam's beatboxing videos. I'd love to see them live before I kick the bucket.
@lorrieriddle22113 жыл бұрын
He is definitely known as the freak of nature. I think he is a few ticks away from Michael Winslow from Police Academy fame (as you noted). He is awesome! He also sings (you can hear his tenor in How Great Thou Art). They ALL do beatboxing in the live concert of 9-5 Beatbox Breakdown. It will also blow your mind. The amazing thing to me is that Adam didn't even learn how to beatbox until he was in college with his brother Chris who co-founded the group (in 2000). He watched several beatbox videos (and Doug E Fresh was probably one of them) & he learned how to play the drums so he could replicate the sounds & be able to "play" them in the concerts. He got his degree in college on playing the trumpet, hence the awesome breath control. He is a 2X world champion beatboxer voted as such by other beatboxers and judges in European a cappella competitions. (He probably has won more since I last checked). He is mind blowing to say the least. He does this drum solo in the concerts to give the other guys' voices a break. However HE doesn't take a break from beatboxing during the entire concert (from what I understand).
