I am from Kazakhstan, bad i dont speek english. Это казахская народная песня, хотя у нее есть автор. Песня-письмо красавице-жене, не дождавшейся мужа, который был арестован в 1934 году. Играл Димаш на домбре, национальном инструменте. Песня удивительно точно передает музыкальную культуру казахов, мелодичность напевов казахских песен.

The instrument is called dombra- it is a two string lute type instrument from Kazakhstan. It is played in a very specific way. The sound is produced by strings and the body of the instrument is also used as a percussion instrument. His grandfather, father and brother they all play the dombra. He has learned it as a small child.

This is in Kazakhstan. The instrument, the Dhombrya, is a 2 stringed Kazakhstani instrument with a long neck and a flattened drum. Daididau was a girl whose story affected Dimash deeply, and he sings of her with a heart-broken yearning, because she died many years ago.

The people you wondered about are his teachers from his university, the orchestra are his fellow students. He is wearing a shapan, singing his own arrangement of a traditional Kazakh folk song. The instrument is called a dombra, a two stringed Kazakh lyre, he is a multi instrumentalist. He so wanted to sing this to share his culture and he was so, so happy they liked it. You should have seen it in his concert, he had just about every dombra player in his city on stage, all in traditional dress, it was incredible. 💖

The emotion he shows in every performance is absolutely breathtaking...no matter how many times i watch him perform this song, I am overwhelmed. He is so proud of his homeland and the culture. Dombra is the instrument... a Kazakhstan instrument. Most children learn this from a Very young age! You need the backstory of the beautiful sad song of Kazakhstan. Check out Gloria Wu channel for this song. This was very important to Dimash to introduce his country to the world! The others on the stage are his friends. This performance is why we call him Prince Dimash!

Yes, it´s traditional kazakh song in kazakh language. They are also dressed in kazakh traditional costumes and the instrument is dombra. His grandfather plays it, his father, his brother and him since childhood. The back story is amazing - you can watch it with subtitles on Gloria Wu Channel. Even better version then is on his Bastau concert.

This instrument is a dombra, a traditional Kazakh instrument. Dimash also plays guitar, cello, piano and drums. This song is the poem of love and despair of poet and national inspiration, Magzhan Zhurbayev. During the Stalinist reign of terror in the early 1930's, he was arrested and later executed. While imprisoned, he was falsely told that his beloved wife had decided to leave him. This is his love-poem of sadness and despair to his wife.

I know I am late coming to this party but, this instrument is called a dombra, and is a traditional instrument of Kazakhstan. The song is a favorite folk song of Dimash and he more than once said that he wanted the world to know and sing this song. If you go to Gloria Wu's channel. you can get the back story to this song which is very poignant. His costume is of course a traditional costume of Kazakhstan and the musicians on stage were from the Kazakhstan University of Music and came to perform with Dimash for this song. Watch his smile when he finished. it was a smile of pure joy.
