Peep was an amazing songwriter, he put words so beautifully together it's amazing how he was able to demonstrate his feelings in this way
@noahjones15232 жыл бұрын
The documentary on peep: Everybody’s Everything does a great way of showing exactly what these lyrics are about. He had so many people mooching off his success, staying in his tiny house just because he was kind enough to let them, and simply trying to ride off his fame without actually caring about him or wanting to know him deeply. Peep would literally go into his closet just cry when he got too overwhelmed with everything going on so he didn’t burden anyone else with his problems. Such a pure soul mislead and taken advantage of, it’s seriously heartbreaking. Always wishing Gus rests in peace he touched so many peoples hearts and genuinely saved more than knew.
@harambae70142 жыл бұрын
Don't take that documentary at face value. It was heavily steered by the company that did has management in the later years (First Act Entertainment), who were shady to say the least. The documentary made it seem like he was the only guy in the scene with any talent and everyone else (including the other members of GBC) were just riding on his coat tails. That's complete nonsense. He was one guy in the scene who happened to be really talented and blew up, but so much of his success came from the environment he was in, the collaborations he did and the sounds other people developed. Notice how little airtime the documentary gives to Lil Tracy even though they were best friends for so long? And barely any focus on people like Nedarb and Horsehead who essentially created the GBC sound? The documentary was good and had some great footage, but please listen to other sides of the story, from people who were actually there in those early years. Remember that First Act were/are going through a lawsuit from Peep's Mom for contributing to the situation that ultimately killed him. They were in damage control mode making the documentary and we're keen to point the finger at anyone else. The only mention they make of Mackned is a nod towards the suggestion that he killed Peep by providing him with laced pills, something everyone in GBC denies.

@@harambae7014 This. Everyone wants to just look at Peep from what he was dealing with vs looking at Peep and how was living/words in his songs the last 2 years of his life. His manager was his drug plug and has stories out there that she was just a party girl herself and was banging everyone on that tour. I've always struggled with how his mom is so vocal postpardum, but seemingly didn't offer much support after he left the house. Now she's fanstastically wealthy from her sons work and although he never said anything I'll from his side (Could be content to debunk this but I havent seen it in my personal experience).

beautiful video, peep absolutely was my therapy for many years during the darkest years of my life. i can't explain how attached i was to his music and to him personally. i haven't listened to him for a while as i have moved on from those years now but every now and then i come back to relisten to some of these classics. he did make really cool and unique music and he would've been a mainstream superstar now. but his earlier stuff omg. the songs he made as a 19 year old by himself alone in his room. they were truly therapy for people. there are a lot of songs like this that are just so incredibly deep and touching that helped me. another one is a song called life (the 2015 original one) and a song he did with yunggoth called fishscale. there was just something so special and powerful about this kid and his voice making his own authentic music in his bedroom using his own shitty laptop. people like him don't come around too often r.i.p you sweet soul

One of my favorite songs from this album, like many lil peep fans I used to listen to him almost every day for a couple solid years. Got me through some hard times. Don't listen to him as religiously but always like to revisit his music from time to time. Was so unique in our generation. After he passed I made a promise to myself stop popping pills , not sure if I'd be alive today if I didn't make that choice .

There’s so many similar comments on all of Peep’s work. How easy it is for us to care so much about a stranger is absolutely baffling. Peeps music is the only music that I’ve cried to. He’s the only artist that I’ve wanted to see where he passed away and I live in Phoenix. If you haven’t visited this spot in Tucson AZ I recommend if you loved peep. The out of this world connection I feel to his music is shocking. Why have I cried about the death of a 21 year old boy that I’ve never met? Every fiber of my being wants to be able to see him live and to have watched him grow into the icon he was meant to be. Peep isn’t just music. He’s an aesthetic of an entire generation of fucked up kids and he spoke the best to us. He forever will. There is no other artist I can relate to more and he was so likable. His efforts will live on forever.
@alexb7092 Жыл бұрын
I feel this comment so much. I was so shocked when he passed, it's sad but I was younger than him when he passed and now I'm 26 and the more time that goes on, the more I think, wow, he really was so young, he was just entering adulthood and he went through so much so fast, I was devastated listening to all of his songs after he passed too, it just made them so much more haunting, even to this day, it still breaks my heart, it makes me so upset, mad, frustrated, hurt, just sad, he didn't deserve what happened to him, he should have had a full life and he was really just starting his journey. :( but he also helped me through dark times too, his music helped me through traumatic times, helped me when I was alone... it's like I had a personal connection, but I didn't and never will, it's so strange to feel such a connection for someone who never knew you who never will, but I still hold him and his music close to my heart, I dedicated my first ever tattoo to him and got his "CryBaby" tattoo on me with the broken ♡ ,☆ and + on his face (on my arm)

I resonate wit peep beyond words. Been struggling with ptsd since i was 7 from childhood trauma. I use music and art as my vehicle for expression. Here in SC there arent many resources or even respect for mental health. Especially for Black People. Suicide plagues thoughts daily. The burden of being a bird in the world and not being able to fly

I listen to Peep every day. Unfortunately I didn't discover his music until after he passed. But I REALLY wish I had been a fan when he was still around. I know he had quite a few concerts in Seattle, which is only about an hour, and a half drive from me. I could've saw him live, if only I had known about him. Such a talented young man who was taken from us way too soon. I had the privilege of speaking to his mom a couple years ago. She was such a nice lady, and so positive. Can see where Peep got his kind nature. Keep resting peacefully Peep. You've helped millions of people through your music, and left a legacy behind that will never die.
