When my niece gets in my truck, she always puts Lil Peep on my radio. At first, I was like what the hell are you listening to? Over time as I reluctantly listened to his music, I realized this is one of the saddest stories in music. All his songs are about drugs and depression. He was crying out for help and knew he was going to die if he continued on the road he was traveling. I'm a 53-year-old man and I found myself wanting to give this kid a hug and tell him that there is hope, there is a better life. Sadly, he died of an overdose. It's a tragic story. If only someone had listened to his cries he might still be here today. RIP Lil Peep. I hope you find peace in the stars tonight.

Gus was and is one of the best artists that related to me, he was public about his mental health issues, his suicidal thoughts, attempts, etc. He had a tough upbringing with his grandfather being his bestfriend, he wouldn't be healthy enough to perform some shows so yes he used substances but his management would go get drugs off of the streets for gus (lil peep) to perform so they could make the money regardless of his health, so he took xanax (Alprazolam) 2mg laced with fentanyl which left him unconscious in his bus, I have also overdosed on fentanyl and thankfully in 8 minutes with no pulse or heartbeat 5 cans of narcan brought me back. Nobody checked on him, they did but just thought he was sleeping for 6 hours while sitting, not moving AT ALL. It gets a LOT deeper, but gus has his amazing community because WE as addicts, people who suffer with mental health illnesses we related A LOT to him. I am clean for 1 year now, and Rest In Peace Gus, Juice, X, Mac (who died taking the same m 30 fake percocet that killed me) and the many others that have passed. Long Live all of them

I completely relate myself to lil peep’s song leanin’ when he says « woke up surprised, am I really alive » it got me so deep inside bc one night, I overdosed of xanax with alcohol then woke up the next day and told myself wow am I really alive ? All that while I’ve been driving by the ambulance to the hospital. Lil peep was a voice for the people who’s struggling with drug addiction and mental issues. It’s Definitely a huge loss. Find the bright side with people who’ll understand you and who will help you get feeling better and where you’ll feel compfortable with. Find the good people, is probably the hardest thing to reach out in this world.

@@cyberjunkie2880 absolutely agree with you Peep, X & Juice we’re the most talented out of all of them and it’s just so ironic how those ones were the one that died. Hip hop is kinda watered down now, not really much going on in “new scenes”anyways. The SoundCloud rap scene was really the last one really if you think about it. The SoundCloud wave had a lot of different genres of rap going on so the beginning of the decade we had that whole Chicago drill scene, then we had that whole famous dex, uzi vert, pump goofy moves wave or whatever tf it’s called 😂 then of course, the whole Phonky, punk, horrorcore wave that was going on, then emo rap and then it was the whole 6ix9ine snitch goofy as shit wave or that attention seeking dumb shit to get famous bullshit wave yk? 🤣. There were so many great artists that rose to fame off that platform during that time. It’s sad to see it fade away like that. There’s still artists on there that are really good! You just gotta really dig. There’s this whole mini black metal rap type scene going on that I wish blew up when the SoundCloud scene was popular. Go check out Mary Mortem, Crook, Tommy Blve, Any members from DETHN. Elkk is another one that’s really good too! SoundCloud was the beginning of an era.

Within his fandom, alot of us know that peep was in alot of pain and struggled heavily with his drugs problem, but not only that, his father wasnt there for him when he grew up, his grandpa was his father figure. I think thats where most of his pain comes from but not only that, i feel like his breakup with emma was something very hard for him. Theres is alot of issues piling up, he never had time alone, there were always people in his house, sleeping in his bed, wearing his clothes. He tried to help them since he now earned money but it wasnt good for him, he couldnt help all of them and that was a huge weight on his shoulders, he wanted to help them so bad but he couldnt. He got used bc he had money. He was on tour which he hated, he didnt enjoy it anymore. On november 15 2017, he had one of his shows in arizona, lines of people were waiting outside, he was in his tourbus. When it was time to get on soon, they called him but he didnt respond, he was asleep. It took 4 hours for them to find him, dead. Theres alot in the docu on netflix if u want to get more into this, but i will say, not alot of thing there are entirely true but i wont get into that. This video breaks my heart. I'll attempt to be the resident Lil Peep expert and give you some background on his life. He was born on November 1st 1996 in Allentown PA. His father was never really in his life and I think this weighed on him, though he rarely talked about it. He also had a relationship with a girl named Emma for years and I dont think he ever fully got over their breakup. He got into making music in his teen years when he found SoundCloud and his original name before Lil Peep-peep was his mom's nickname for him, and he was extremely close with his mom-was Trap Goose. He was also close to his grandfather. Also his brother Karl and his adorable dog Taz. He eventually left home to pursue his dreams and joined various music groups, being homeless for the majority of the time, or sharing a place with like 10 people. During this time he became close friends with another artist Lil Tracy, and they made around 50 songs together. He eventually made it with a record deal and got his own place. He would let his friends stay there, let them wear his clothes, and really just overall tried to help them as much as he could even though he probably wasn't in the best position to be helping others at the time. I think he really had trouble with the idea that he couldn't help everyone, though he wanted to. He was into a lot of drugs and nobody around him really tried to do anything about it. They were either drug addicts themselves, indifferent to his drug use, or they fed him more drugs. (His management team I believe is guilty of this, they liked his image and wanted to keep that, even though it clearly wasn't what was best for him.) I believe he moved to London at some point in 2017, though he was also on tour a lot. He died November 15th 2017 in Tuscon Arizona to an accidental fentynal overdose-2 weeks into age 21-due to laced pills. It's sad because he was on tour and surrounded by people, but nobody checked in on him until it was too late. There's a documentary on Netflix if you ever wanted to learn more in depth about his life BTW. He was an influence to Juice Wrld, who was a fan of him. Overall he was an extremely kind person who always treated others with respect. He grappled with mental health issues but refused to go to therapy, I believe he didn't think it could help him. He enjoyed anime and fantasy shows like Game Of Thrones, was also into video games. Thanks so much for reacting to him, he's my favorite music artist and I really enjoyed your video. 🖤much love

Before listening to Lil Peep, I would think , "imagine me listening to rap, it's not even music." Now I think to myself, "I'm so glad I decided to listen to this music because it sheds light on actual human suffering that we should all take time to understand and talk about without shame. Thank you, Lil Peep for your music. It's helped me through so much already.

It's so great to see you being so understanding with this kind of music. When I show people this kind of sad music, they quickly shut it off. I'm just trying to reach out in the only language I know how to... Through music. So when people insult my music choices or quickly shut it off, it kinda hurts and gives me no hope in anyone understanding how I'm feeling. So to hear you not only hear everything Lil Peep said, but also enjoying it, genuinely warmed my heart.💞

It's so crazy how just from listening to this song, as a therapist, he was able to deduce that Peep was struggling with his emotions. How Peep is struggling to let out his emotions in life which he does really well with his music. R.I.P legend we will miss you

I am a chronic lil peep fan so to say, I was among his 0.05% top listeners on Spotify for 2021, even though I only really got into him half way through the year. With his music by my side I have coped with so many situations, dealt with so many feelings and worked out so many problems for myself. I truly feel like he makes my depression bearable at times when I feel like "I'm falling to pieces". Hearing his music can feel uplifting, or introspective, or it can even just be calming when I need to get something done under stress. RIP Lil Peep

I really do love you're reaction, high-key very inspiring Tom🖤 Recommendations for Lil peep - Worlds away (I feel like you would love that one), Life is beautiful ( it's kinda like his twisted perspective on how life really isn't beautiful), Kiss ( no explanation I just love this song)

Tom, I hope you see this, thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart. I am not in the best place right now but Peep means a lot to me and I just stumbled across your channel, this video I cannot thank you enough for. When you spoke about priorities; "You live out your priorities. Your priorities aren't what you say, your priorities are what you do." This is so deeply meaningful I have wrote it down along with your name so I don't forget lol, I think this could be literally life changing to hear for many people and I just keep reading it over and over. Also some of the stuff you said about Peep towards the end made me understand the song's meaning so much deeper as it's definitely true regarding him going through a tough time etc, really grateful for you making and uploading this video. Thank you again so so much and I wish you all the best

this made me really emotional, it brought me back to this time in music. seeing the innocence is shocking. the pure in us that either disappears or slowly leaves us due to our environments and the negative things we try to push out. seeing how society affects us is heartbreaking to me. it just reminds me of our collective sadness, that seems endless
@scottishemmaa24573 жыл бұрын
Great reaction as always! Lil peep ‘life is beautiful’ would be brilliant - a lot to discuss within the lyrics. Yeah, peep passed away of an accidental overdose. You should check out ‘Everybody’s Everything’, the documentary about Peep’s life and death. The Juice Wrld fans might disagree but I actually think the Peep documentary is much better than the Juice Wrld one, it gives a much more in depth look at his rise to fame and his background than ‘In to the Abyss’ did. What really upsets me is the way these record labels and management push and push these young artists - who are still kids in a lot of ways, they have them on a non stop touring schedule, away from their loved ones for weeks or months on end with little emotional support. This was so obvious with Peep and Juice Wrld and also Avicci, just tragic.

I'm 42 I found lil peep after my son told me the kind of music he had been listening to it was xxx so I'm a huge music lover so I went to listen and I happened on lil peep INSTANTLY I became his biggest fan and showed my my son his music. His music is everything my soul had been missing since the 90's in my teens. He was just what I needed and then like so many of my other favorites I lost him. Thank God that kid worked so hard, he left so much good music in such a short time. You should do more of these on his music. He was going to be a massive star MASSIVE it breaks my heart what happened to him because of jealous shit so called friends. He was beyond talented INCREDIBLE he had it all.
