You know Jelly calls his music Therapeutic Music right? I love so many of his songs for that reason. He is so relatable. Great reaction!!!! Creature is a great one and Smokin Section. If These Tears Could Talk features his daughter. So many hits that speak truth.

Jelly is hands down the nicest artist I've ever met and I've met a ton of people (my dad's in radio). He spoke to me like we'd been friends our whole lives. Very unfiltered, very real idk how to explain it. Most artists I've ever met we're concerned about saying the right things or whatever but he just doesn't give a damn and i love it. Good dude.

Jelly Roll is a very humble down to earth man. He make therapeutic music. Real music for real people. Love his story from Jail to sleeping in a van, to #1 on the radio , playing Jimmy Kimmel, and The Grand ole Opry. " Echoes" is one of his best addiction songs.

Fellow therapist here, I came here to see your reaction to Son of a Sinner after hearing it on youtube. I'll be honest, the words were so moving that I couldn't hold back my tears since I've lost a grandmother to suicide because of pills, a grandfather to alocohol and an uncle on my 18th birthday to alcohol. I know I have a very addictive personality and this song is a great reminder to me about the implications of what would happen if I were to make a mistake with pills or alcohol. Thanks for the reaction.

I am weeping tears of joy. Today I spoke at church for about 20 minutes and shared about several miracles. Right now I am bawling my eyes out realizing that the biggest miracle in my life is that I am about to hit 8 years without a drink or a pill. My wife is laying next to me and after I dry my eyes, I'm going to let her know that without her and God. I would not be here today. 🙏💞

Congrats. I got 3 years. But I think my survival is a joke. Got thrown from a car when it flipped on the highway and I was ejected. I was partially scalped, had brain swelling, a skull fracture, chest ripped open and hanging off, liver ripped nearly in half, both lungs collapsed, and severe road rash burns on half my body. Was in a coma for a week and had to relearn everything. Put on pain medication and did everything right, followed all the rules, then went in one month and found out my doctor wasn’t going to be prescribing opioids anymore (because the DEA crackdowns) and the entire practice was given a month of meds and “good luck”. No doctors wanted to take on opioids. They helped me get out of bed and be functional. Ended up switching to heroin. I have ODed multiple times and each time I was tired and was hoping I would just blissfully fade to nothingness and not wake. I lost my brother, best friend, ex, cousin, uncle, and numerous others. It took its toll. I also by chance went to the hospital for nausea and while doing an abdominal CT scan found my lungs full of blood clots (pulmonary emboli) and any one could have killed. Or how I got sepsis. Or when I aspirated into my lungs and needed intubation.😂 My brother tried dope once and died and I’ve been close to death multiple times and won’t die. The irony.

I can relate to this song and the other jelly roll song save me so well. The problem is I care about my mental health but the behavioral health personnel in the army do not. The most I get from them is pamphlets and sent out the door to fend for myself. Went for help and was kicked out the door to be helpless again. Everyone wants to help 22 a day to end but the military.

When you first said lets listen to this song and see if there is some mental health in JelllyRoll, I laughed out loud! I love Jellyroll. Flat Out LOVE him!! He has helped me come out of heroin addiction and the loss of my 20 year marriage because I became a widow due to our heroin addiction. Jelly Roll is the definition of Mental Health! His therapeutic music is so honest and his relationship with God and lack of fear to say it even as a famous rockstar is just so cool!! He is so real!! He shows you that no matter how messed up you are, God still hears you and you are still worth something. He is a beautiful example of how valuable and beautiful a broken person can be!

Music is my reason for living addictions killed all of my bands. I'm a recovering addict and have been sober and clean for 6½ years now and it's definitely the hardest thing I've ever done in this life. I'd much rather do combat tours to Iraq again than to go through what I went through during my addiction and my road to recovery. I remember not being able to see a way out or the light at the end of the tunnel and was in the darkest place and recesses of my mind and....I just wanted it all to end. This song from the moment I first heard from the first time resonated with me on a deep level and seeing the faces of each person singing the words looks to me like all have had thay same struggle in some way be it pills, alcohol or whatever...but your right Jelly seems to get lost in bis mind there for a minute and goes to that dark place and relives it while he is sitting there. He is a great song writer and singer and is loved by so many because he's just one of us and he just sings truth and helps get the hurt out. Glad I found your channel!

When I listen "new ways to get gone" means anyway u can get away from the pain. Out of ur own head. I feel his pain. Believe it or not, I was at the same mental health sage as the song, "save me" and this one last year. But i found what I like doing and that is exercising, and working out, so i found a personal trainer and never felt so mentally and physically good in my life. I am sticking with it and i dont look back at those times. I was pretty close to giving up, it was that bad (I'll let you figure out what i mean by giving up...).

Jelly had a drug issue as a young man. He even did some jail time along the way… he has a way of baring his soul and pours his heart out in his music. He has said in interviews that he uses music as his therapy. Better than a journal that sits on a shelf. If he relives the painful parts through his songs he has a continuing outlet for the dark stuff.

And if you fall pick yourself up dust yourself off and quit again it'll stick sooner or later. There is life on the other side.

Remember he is convict like me, and made a change to better himself. There is so much pain in our world. He goes throw so much pain not only what come from being a convict but our own life. Just like all people, all people lose families they are your own personal reason of living

I think that Jelly Roll was making a reference to cocaine when he said “now I’m back chasing these white lines”. I believe that he’s talking about the lines of cocaine that someone that does drugs would snort with a straw. So in my opinion he is singing about drug addiction and alcohol addiction and trying to figure out what he can do to help change his ways. It’s a sad song when you think about it like I do and it makes you want to see if he can get on the right track and do great things in his life and in the future and in the world today.😢😢😢

This is/was my reaction therapy. My ex-wife accused me of some of the most disgusting things you could ever do to a child. My life, career, and everything I worked for my 4 kids were ripped away from me in the blink of an eye. I turned to drink, just not caring and wishing every sip was my last one. I had no motivation to move on in life. Here I am 2 and a half years later and I am weeks away from being a father again. I still have that cloud over my head because she has manipulated so many people. I don't care, my kid's opinion is all that matters to me. Save me and Son of a sinner literally helped me see that there is hope. He talked to GOD and so do I. If you are ever in so deep you don't think there is any way out, you're wrong. You're loved, there's hope, and you have a purpose. I don't know you but if you need to hear it, I LOVE YOU

Make the emotional debt stop finding me, family members kidnapped, murdered, cancer death/survivors, cheating significant others, bosses that don't care about your trauma firing you for needing a minute to recover! This has all happened in the last 7 years, the world is a hard place and now I am worried about my daughter being drafted into war and trying to figure out how to stop that as well.

I think the part where it says I'm looking for new ways to get gone. Is either your looking for reasons to get high or your looking for reasons to get clean.

New ways I can get gone.. when your stronger than the addiction of the drugs, but still chase a release. Being able to quit hard drugs but still needing weed and alcohol. It's not the addictive properties of the drug, it's just pain looking for a release.

I was in the mood to listen to one of my favorite songs it's a old Jellyroll song called Guess who's Back . Totally love it ,it's back years he was white rapper slinging dope in and out jail hanging st.corners gang talk ,homies everything that put him to this new level ahead of it time but still cool even now .I listened loved it like always after you in the save me video. Pops up I'm not in bad place but believe knowledge and other views are important to keep yourself in good place. This day in age I'm curious of shows like your because most people don't do shows like this because they are nice, everyone's got there own agenda (and it to there benefit). But after watching your thoughts on both the videos I have to aplode you, enjoyed your words so many times you only get something good after they ramble thoughts and there interpretation BUT not You,every word was a positive everything and way you perseved it came out in a positive so hard to but amazing!!!I hope you can help those that might need it and Thank You in advance for them I'm truly a fan from here out Great work and much love!!!!

While I was a leader in Celebrate Recovery for many years I watched people fail and succeed in recovery. At 4-5 out of 20 succeeding, what I witnessed was that those who were totally committed to change made it. We can't force people to change. It has to come from deep within with the conviction of 100% to commit and accept. Less than that would return. Thankfully, many of these that returned succeeded.
