Families need to get involved when family members fall. Talk to your family members. Don’t turn your back on them like mine did! Mine didn’t care but throws it up in my face when I have to talk to them! I no longer speak to them especially since my mom & dad have both passed. But, neither of them supported me! Days ights, I would pray I wouldn’t wake up! Just prayed for death to end my pain, but I choose to live!!!

He’s singing to all the addicts out there and the alcoholics and people with mental health issues. I’m so happy to read all the stories in the comments of the people he has saved. God bless you all.❤

I agree with you. A real person singing about real life and real issues. That is what this sad world is missing. Everything, everyone, is fake these days. The last thing I want to hear is ANOTHER song about killing ppl or money, cars, clothes, and ..... well you know the rest. Ppl like jelly role, Kendrick, j. Cole, Big K.R.I.T. are artist who create music for normal everyday ppl. They create music about reality

So I just heard this song for the first time about 15 minutes ago. I've driven all the way home from work with tears running down my face. This isn't a song, this is a lifeline. I have goosebumps still. I am several years ahead of my journey to a better life, but it reminded me of my mistakes and the woman that never gave up on me. I am so grateful that person is now called my wife.

My husband left our home over 2 months ago..After being off the needle for over 6 yrs he's started IV use again..The drugs are making him think I'm cheating & lying to him all the time. It's awful to watch the man i love hurting over something that's not even happening but when he's clean he takes it all back, says he's sorry, he knows I'm not cheating.. I'm heartbroken with him gone, only b/c he's listening to his demons telling him lies about me..I honestly don't know what I need to do..I need my husband home, my marriage saved. Dear God he's worth it, i wish I knew how to fix this..We were so in love until he started thinking i was cheating, but i don't even have a reason to cheat, he's the total package in my eyes.. How can he be so foolish to loose what we have together over listening to the drugs telling him lies... I'm lost without my best friend💔💔💔

Recovering addict here with over a year sober. I'm a combat veteran, ex fire fighter for 17 years and a survivor of child sexual trauma this song helped me inform my wife of my addiction after 5 years of hiding meth usage after my mother and father passed. I was almost completely gone from no home to looking at forever self sleep. We worked together in counseling and every day sobriety now I'm making it if I can do it anyone can!!! Don't give up

I didn’t know this. Time to put in all the support I can for this man. My cousin died from weed being laced. I didn’t know him that well. Met him like twice but seeing the effect of what it is doing broke me. I have only had it after surgery and that was like one mg maybe less I know it was such a low dose but had such an impact on me. Really scared me. I grew up with addicts. They are people lost. I lost my dad to addiction. I’m sorry I’m going into a hole. Just thank you for the info. This song has saved me numerous times. Jelly says he makes his music for the lost, the broken, the misfits, the have not's, the damaged. His music hits on such a great level for me especially. I am a disabled vet with PTSD and depression, I lost my wife 3 years ago. I found his music one day while struggling with those not so great thoughts I have every once in a while and it fit my life so perfectly. Since then I've listened to everything and even attended one of his concerts. As he told us at the concert, which kinda felt like he was taking us to church, he said he makes his music to heal. Which it greatly does. Jelly deserves the 3 CMT awards he has gotten and so much more.

Wow, me too brother. And three years clean for me from the needle. Sadly I’m now battling with alcohol but I know what to do now. Reach out for help and I am. I’m not going out like that. Took everything in me to beat my battle with that needle, I know how strong I am now. So this booze, it’s gotta go. You’re bang on, all addiction is a coping mechanism for trauma and pain. I wish the masses could understand this. Far to many people look down on addicts without reaching them a hand to pull them back up. That needs to change. Anyways, the needle snd three years clean just resonated with me. Keep it up brother.

My daughter in law is in a bad place with alcohol and MAJOR health issues and I'm so incredibly worried! She sent me this song today and it's her screaming for help. I'm trusting God to help her and also I'm going with her to get help! NO MATTER WHAT, WHERE THERE'S LIFE THERE IS HOPE! I will never give up on her, she's never had a mother or father and I took her as my own when my son married her 15 years ago and I meant it, I still do! I saw the damage and pain in the teenage girl my son brought to meet me the very first day and I knew right then I was willing and able to love and be there for the beautiful girl in front of me and that she just wanted ONE human being to actually love her unconditionally! Pray for my sweet baby girl Amber please and always remember YOU can be the difference in a life!!!❤

You are a blessing, and a light to her in a very dark world. You are the mother in law every woman deserves and every little girl dreams of when they dream of meeting the man they will love. Especially the little girls who dream of meeting someone who sees them for who they are and not the wounds they have and the scars they've healed. It is amazing when someone has the love and support of their partner. But when that love and support is extended to their partners family, that is so beautiful. You are an angel and I believe Amber has been guided to exactly the people she needs in her life to help lift her up.

Because the rules are rigged against Independent Artist's. Literally. I am not a huge fan of Tom Macdonald for instance but he is honest with everything he does thats just how he is and feels but he made an amazing piece showing and explaining in lengthy detail how they denied him and Adam Calhoun Number 1 album in the country let alone the Charts because they are not in a large label and did literally everything themselves even though they kept extremely detailed records of literally everything sold. So, no sadly he may never win a "Grammy" for his beautiful music but the way things are headed and more people seeing and hearing his and other like him and their music they will most definetly come up with a new way style of reward and honestly it will be earned more than a Grammy ever could be. Just watch.

I ❤ Jelly Roll. His music speaks to me. After losing my son at 15 to cancer and than my mom to suicide. I became addicted to sleeping pills, than had a mild heart attack due to the pain and sorrow. I've been in counseling for years. No one can understand what people go through, if they haven't been in your shoes.

This song has a different meaning for me. As I go through chemo and I am reliant on others for my care, I feel like a liability. I used to be the one who helped everyone and I don't know how to accept the help that I need now. I don't know, but I do relate to this song and it brings me to tears every time I listen to it.

I cried the first time I heard this song because I heard myself crying out from childhood to present day. This is definitely a recovery song. Thank you for what you do, it’s important. I am a recovering addict of 25 years. Meth, heroin, anything that could go in a needle. Before that was alcohol. Jail cells, trap houses, homeless and treatment centres. Took everything I had to defeat that. Couldn’t have done it without people like you who saved my life. You literally save lives. I’m sure you know this. Sadly I’m slipping back into alcohol and it scares me. But now I know what to do. I know I can reach out for help. I’ve already started on my own but going to start going to meetings asap. Going to do what it takes. I wrote a poem for the beautiful people who worked at the treatment Center and I read it at my grad in front of so many people. Not a dry eye in the house. Since I stumbled onto your comment I’d like to share that poem with you also. I know you will appreciate it. It’s for all you people who dedicate their lives to saving lives. Thank you.

A new story: First the decision was made that enough was enough, our lives had become unmanageable and life was simply to tough. But we knew that we could not do it on our own, we needed a safe place, our new home. We could not stand the chaos any more, so we searched for help and we found freedoms door. As I made the first call it was music to my ears, as I can only imagine played, and it filled my eyes with tears. Next we waited and we waited, each new day we were told that the list had been updated. One day closer to the journey that awaits, one day closer to another fate. A fate not ruled by our addiction, but a fate that would heal each and every one of our afflictions. On the other end of the phone there was always a message of hope, they said just hold on, because there is life after dope. Are you in a safe place and are you ok? these are just some of the things that they would say. It made us know that they truly did care, we knew in our hearts, angels worked there. And then came these four words, you have a bed. And without that, many of us may have ended up dead. The first thing we learned is that there is recovery in community, and broken and damaged people can still live together in unity. They taught us that we don’t have to hold onto the guilt and the shame, to just let go because there is no one to blame. We were told that we deserve to be loved and to love, because that is our god given right from our father above. We were taught the basic principles of Christianity, we were shown how the power of God could restore us to sanity. And the healing prayers that broke the ties that bind, they helped to free us from the prison in our mind. Our recovery had to come first, we had to realize just how much we were worth. And with that came a good nights rest for a settled mother, and new found freedom and love for one another. And now our children have their fathers back. And there is no amount of thanks I can give for that. This is my way of saying thank you to all of the staff, volunteers, supporters, and my brothers in this place. You have all helped me on my journey to Gods amazing grace. So let us all share in Gods glory, as we walk through the door to a new story.

My brother has been clean and sober for 11 years. I am so proud of him. I obviously did not experience what he went through but this song makes me really think long and hard about his struggle and how far he has come. He went from being an opioid addict and an alcoholic who overdosed on pills and had to be revived with Naloxone to being a major success in his field and one of the most well loved and respected members of his community. He says he was saved for this purpose. I truly believe that he went through whah he went through so that he could come out on the other side and be a blessing to other people in their time of need. Plus he is now a wonderful husband and an amazing father.

God Bless you Melanie 🙏🏻Takes courage to even admit that. Let alone overcome it. I had horrible domestic violence in my childhood, saw my Mom r@ped. Shitty stuff. I hate that these things happen to innocent children. You’re amazing for being able to stand up and say I’m a survivor, it doesn’t define me and I’m stronger than my traumas. ❤️🙏🏻✝️

Thank you very much! Ironically I learned forgiveness because of what my dad did. I'm a paralegal over 28 years But my passion is advocacy for children of sexual molestation! I coach them to testify and spend lots of time reaching out to judges to let them know the crime towards us a lifelong sentence!!! And advocate by mailing them a note card with a photo of me at age 8 when I won our towns "Little Miss" pageant. I state to please consider this face as those of all children of cases that come before you as a true life long victim. And you, as the Judge, give them the longest sentence possible! Because we suffer our entire lives. 've started public speaking on this subject especially to police conventions where detectives can ask an adult exactly what to ask to get the facts to convict! If I had to suffer to save one child I will keep this fight going verses money. I had the most incredible counselor who also was a survivor. Guided imagery worked amazingly well for me. I highly recommend it to all. It's also my testimony. I will fight the stigma forever! And honestly I am highly considering going back to school to treat others. Thank you for what you do as well. It takes a village. Be blessed❤

I've heard this song a million times. I've sang this song a million times. And here I am, crying, once again. This song really hits home, makes me face my darkest depths and express my deepest fears in the tears that escape me when his voice, his words, hit my soul. You can a lot by a person - who they are, their history, their demons - by how they react to this song.

Such a good song... nearly perfectly describes how so many of us (including myself) act and feel.. almost pushing people away and just diving into the self-destructive behavior we know is making our lives worse, but thinking we're too far gone from being able to turn things around. Feeling helpless and worthless, etc. Love how this guy's into it so much too..

My precious Son passed at age 42 Aug. 24, 2020 from fentinal poisoning. He was an incredible tattoo artist, our story is too long to share here but his life goal was to find something that truly helped people with mental illness being bipolar 2 himself. He had the teardrop tattoo for suicide awareness. His clients would tell me he was their therapist as well. Like Jelly Roll he was very honest about his struggles and helped many by being so. I miss my child so much but this is not the end of his story we will embrace again. He left two sons in their 20’s that he loved very much. Much healing needs to take place in those boys and it is. This is the first I came across your program tonight I will be listening more. I will post this and pray God uses what you’re doing to help countless people, thank you and Jelly Roll. 💗

This is gorgeous. Just found your channel, I sometimes think reacting would be a fun thing to do. Switching gears and thinking of music as therapy, I was almost murdered by my ex 5 and a half years ago, and I have done a lot of singing my entire life, like it was my only true love. Intubation caused my voice a lot of damage, but I hope to get it back to a decent place. One day maybe you'll be reacting to my stuff. I did start writing a song about what he did to me. It's literally called 'Fentanyl'. I'm lucky to have woken up at all.

Jelly Roll's voice , heart, and soul that he puts in his music go straight to your soul. It likes he can see your pain and telling you, you're not alone. He's definitely my favorite. He reminds me of my best friend who had passed. He was one of a kind. It didn't matter who you were. He could easily start a conversation with a stranger, and by the time it was over, he had a new friend. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, I know from experience. Lol He loved so much, but he had his own demons to fight. What I wouldn't give to get one more hug from him. He always knew how to put your broken pieces back together with just a hug. I lost a piece of myself when he died, but hearing Jelly's music brings a little bit of him back. I will forever be grateful for that.
