So good to see Ron back out there. Hope all is well

Hey Mr. Avery. Just getting into firearms, but I remember for as long as Ive been playing shooting video games that all I need is one or two shots no matter how off it is, then I know where it shoots in relation to the fingertip of my trigger finger. Then, by feel, I can aim and hit anything, never mind any sights. Thanks for all the knowledge and wisdom, sir.

Yes, Ron was an exceptional instructor, a profound thinker, and a dedicated mentor. His teachings emphasized the importance of proprioception - the body's innate ability to sense its position and movement without visual cues.

@@TacticalPerformanceCenter My, I'm 46 but new to firearms. I had no idea Mr. Avery had passed, I now watch his videos not only with respect but admiration. Thank you for your reply and God Bless you all.
Ron, is my favorite instructor! I’ve been using his concepts since I was in the Marine Corps! Thank you for the intelligent methods of shooting!

I recently switched to an RDS. This concept of aligning the gun instinctively is something I've been working on. Thanks for the video!

After 40-odd years of 1911, I figured I needed to get up to speed with a polymer weapon. S&W M&P 45ACP. I guess I know the answer to this question - as the S&W and 1911 have different grip aspects (not just grip angle), one shouldn't confuse one's mind/muscle memory by switching between the two. I don't mind ditching the S&W, just need to know. A great and simple presentation. Any danger you are planning to hold a workshop / training course in South Africa in the near future?

Ron, you are looking good, my friend. I lost track of you for a while.

This what I keep preaching to people. Index is everything. If you have a good index, consistent grip that puts the pistol in position to align the sights with your eyes, then sights become secondary and for confirmation only. But getting that index takes practice. A LOT of it. Dry fire at home and live fire on the range. It has to be as automatic as walking up stairs.

Should I grip hard in low ready position or relax first then increase the grip pressure while bringing the gun up? Thanks TPC and I miss Ron a lot.
@TacticalPerformanceCenter2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the situation...for most sport/recreational shooting, relaxing the pressure a bit is preferred but for situations where you are concerned with weapon retention, maintaining strong pressure would be advisable. We miss Ron too.

When would you recommend using optics (red/green)?
@TacticalPerformanceCenter2 жыл бұрын
We prefer red color dots. Red is proven to raise awareness.

This is the same concept used in instinctive archery.
