why do we use ca_0 instead ca_1 in cstr reactor design for pfr in upstream case? as we know that reaction rate for cstr is the exit stream from pfr

its expressed in terms of conversion X which is changing btw.....otherwise we would've to use C which we dont know

is your V, the volume of CSTR, volume of PFR, or Volume of CSTR+PFR?

V is volume of either PFR or CSTR which is equal btw.

Hola, buenas tardes. Yo tengo la dudad de lo que tu explicas como podria resolver el siguiente problema. Teniendo solo estos datos Problema. 1.- Una enzima actúa como catalizador de una reacción biología y acelera la reacción A hacia R, los valores de los parámetros cinéticos son: Vmax= 2.6 mM I^-1 min-1 una Km de 6X10^-2 mM. Se ensayó con una concentración de sustrato (Ca0) de 2.5 M. Usando reactores de flujo se desea tener una conversión del sustrato de 98% dado una alimentación de 3.2 L/min. Utilice la siguiente fórmula para resolver el problema -ra= Vmax. Ca/ Km+Ca ; Recuerde que la integral es τ= Km/Vmax ln (Ca0/Ca)+ (Ca0-Ca)/Vmax a) Calcule el volumen de un reactor de flujo pistón para obtener la conversión deseada. b) Calcule el volumen de un reactor de flujo mezclado para obtener la conversión deseada c) Calcule el volumen de los reactores si Km cambia de acuerdo a la siguiente tabla Km (Mm)= 3.1X10^-2; 321X10^-1; 2.8; 19; 298 VFP VFM
