Hi Chuck! Thanks for addressing this, I've been watching MGN even before being an SB19 fan. I unfollowed and unsubscribed to MGN when he said "Stell looked like post-surgery MJ". That was totally uncalled for and the way he said it in a mocking way just did not sit well with me. I also did not like the way he made fun and mocked Josh on his way of saying "SB19" in their Go Up wish bus performance. I was very insulted and appalled, this guy is mocking our accent. I used to like this guy a lot, even requested opm songs and singers for him to react to. I realized this guy is ignorant of our culture, our history and our beliefs, he thinks he knows us because he reacts to Filipino content. In my opinion, he has become arrogant, he thinks because he can say a few words in tagalog and Filipinos have been flocking his channel for years now, he can just throw insults which he brands as his "honesty". I think he is the biggest reaction channel for Filipino content on youtube if I'm not mistaken. I also realized he does not even pay attention to the lyrics of the OPM songs he reacts to! Honesty is good most of the time but relies heavily in our own discretion and the way we say it. Even if we are being honest there is a right way of saying things. Ovela is tactless, he prides himself of being honest without thinking of how he is gonna affect people, which he said himself HE DOES NOT CARE. I also commented this on his reaction vid but he keeps deleting it.

thanks for making this video..ovela also criticized 4th impact..he and his ex-girlfriend said that these girls are not harmonizing with one another but instead competing with one another and trying to overpower one another while singing. there comment really infuriates me because what they're saying is just not true. he might be reacting to alot of filipino content be it in the entertainment or in politics but it doesn't give him the right to disrespect the Filipinos and give criticisms and insults without knowing the real deal. and of course ovela criticised SB19 many times. he doesnt like the song ikako and mapa coz he doesn't like songs with ooohhhs, ahhhhsss, lalas and whatnot as lyrics. i was once subscribed to him but not anymore coz he's biased on his statements..to be a good reactor you should be well-rounded but ovela always anchor his reactions on the things he grew up with or just gotten used to. he claimed to know a lot of things but his perception on things is very narrow and shallow.

i don't understand this ovela reactor. if its not his cup of tea or if its something he dislike in the first place, why bother reacting to it? i mean we can't react objectively on things that are not to our liking, you'll be clouded by prejudice and tend to react subjectively. we will not dare to touch,eat,and review the food we really hate.even if someone will request for us do it unless "money" or something we really need is involved. his reaction is uncalled for. we all have like and dislikes but it doesn't mean that if we dislike something we will nitpick those things. we must respectfully dislike them and keep it to our self. he could've avoid reacting to it, its quite clear on what are his reasons for reacting to it

His opinion should be fact-based, culturally sensitive, and be mindful that he is NOT FILIPINO, HE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING about being a Filipino or just a chunk of our culture yet he acted he knows everything. He is a self-proclaimed music producer that none of his videos he posted bragged that he produced music, he does not even show us what are his compositions or just a piece of it - NONE. I just hope for Filipinos to stop recommending him things to react to. I find it degrading to continuously seek his approval when his reactions are so shallow and full of *pointless* criticism. I don't mind hearing criticism from reactors especially if I learn something about it, (one reason why I love watching actual professionals like vocal coaches, producers or fellow singers/performers). But with Ovela? I barely learn anything but how much my patience can handle *absolutely biased* criticisms.

his vids about sb19 usually gets in my recommended vids. I always love seeing foreigners react to sb19 with the right criticism and recognize the boys' hardwork, but never once clicked on his channel. Thank God I never really did. Hi po. Thanks for this exposé which rightly draws attention to the accumulating concerns over this channel. The character reminds me of Owl in winnie the pooh. Owl loves to pontificate and has the talent for telling others what to do, although most often what he is saying is questionable. But Owl is never obnoxious. For instance, in the video you have reviewed, he preaches: "it's all about the music not about the nonsense...", and yet, in his review of WHAT by SB19, he keeps on rattling about his discomfort over the artists wearing make-up; in another review he appeared obsessed with Stell's nose! Seriously though, something more effective should be done to prevent the flow of unsuitable remarks. I beleive that if reactors could be instructive to viewers, viewers could also educate reactors. It's a two way interaction. Should there be a concerted attempt to courteously shed light on what we feel is improper about his remarks; enlighten him on our sensitivities as a people? Failing good results, a more effective, organized strategy could perhaps be jointly pursued.

Overall di naman sya naka focus sa MUSIC (wala nga yata alam sa music yan MEMA lang) or sa LYRICS man lang nang kanta. Para naman may idea sya kung ano meaning nang kanta at nang malaman nya bat ganun yung concept nya..( when he react to Pablo "LA LUNA MV").. Di nga nya alam pinagkaiba nang tagalog sa english eh..( when he react to SB19 "BAZINGA" rap part) Mas naka focus sya sa looks nang artist at the way kung pano mag perform ang isang artist..
