The main writer of CWs DCTV Mark Guggenhiem admitted that WB contacted him to ask if Ezra could appear in the crossover, the people also acknowledged that ep 4 (the cameo ep) had already been filmed and was just waiting to be aired, Mark said if WB was willing to lend them Ezra as a cameo they would MAKE it happen that Ezra would be in it, all WB asked was that the dialogue didn't reference the plots of either universe, that all dialogue was self contained to the scene itself, so Grant's Barry wouldn't learn anything of Ezras world, and Ezra Barry wouldn't learn anything of Grant's world

So Ezra got part of his wish fulfilled, we just need to see Ezra and Grant race, whether that is a movie race or a tv race, who knows, but in the end Ezra has been campaigning for a flash meet up just as much as fans wanted it

Its been revealed the scene was shot after filming had finished. The Head of WB contacted the producer of the show and asked if they were interested in having Ezra Miller making a cameo in the crossover. They said of course yes, but only if Grant Gustin said yes and he did. Ezra Miller was more than happy to do it.
