The fact that Taylor Swift has never objectively put out a bad album, the fact that most people can name at least 6 of her songs even if they’re her biggest hater, the fact that she dominates the charts everytime she releases anything is what makes me really grateful to have stanned her. Despite ppl constant attempts to break her she comes back swinging with something that nobody can deny her- actual raw talent. She is a lyricist at heart and boy was the latest album Folklore a showcase of those incredible skills.

Actually .. I would say it is her outstanding MUSICIANSHIP and sense of melody that keeps her dominating popular charts. She is a very good lyricist, but not outstanding (compared to other lyric greats like Bob Dylan and Neil Peart etc.), whereas she is one of the best melodists I've ever heard.

@@jameshampton5659 Nope. I have her entire catalogue and listen to it all the time. I am a musician and I stand by my comment. Her sense of melody is as good as it gets. She is a far better musician than lyricist, and yet she is still a very good lyricist. Yes, a song like "Mine" will have a great line in it, like "you made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter" but the rest of the lines in the song are not the same level. I don't rate Bob Dylan much as a musician, but he was an exceptional lyricist. Neal Peart of Rush was a fantastically deep and complex lyricist. Taylor is good, but she's not at that the same level as those guys. Maybe Folklore is getting close. Listen to Territories by Rush (lyrics written by Neal Peart) .. here's the chorus.. I know people want to praise him for investing so much money in her dream, but he is a business owner and saw her potential and understood big money could be made (had it only been about her, he would’ve cared to hear her out). Ngl, but I’ll always side-eye her parents for neglecting their youngest child in effort to get the oldest child’s career/dream going. Not ok! I don't know if someone ever notice this but Taylor's albums (which we all know that most of the songs on them are based on her actual life) feels like a plot from movie. Debut : innocent beginning Fearless : break out career Speak now : young love Red : toxic relationship and nasty break-up 1989 : self-discovery & self-love in a peak of her stardom Reputation : revenge of the fallen Lover : finding true love and the real meaning in life. P.S. I never knew someone who has such unique and stand-out eras the way Taylor does. Like it's impossible to mistake a song or aesthetic on Reputation with 1989 or Red with Lover. The difference is so obvious that even if you are not really in the fandom, just a casual music listener, you still be able to differentiate which lyrics or sounds or songs belong to certain album.

ASHLEY! That’s what I’m saying! Back in her earlier eras when she wrote about high school boyfriends and stuff like that the media really didn’t care because we didn’t really know them but when she started writing about guys that we know that are famous, it became a huge deal that she was writing about ex-boyfriends! The media jumped on board right when she gave that interview to Ellen about how Joe Jonas broke up with her over the phone, they ran with it.
@aghnashajan59034 жыл бұрын
I still believe that Ellen has a huge role in portraying Taylor as this " serial dater girl" ....when in fact she's just a normal girl in her late teens and early twenties.... And then she did blank space and shake it off.....she really use all kind of criticism constructively.....but we can't deny that it really affected her mentally...

I still feel that Kim owns Taylor a huge, sincere and serious public apology for everything she encouraged didn't stop and made her crazy ex husband Tay go through. I truly hope she will do that one day.

Sooo, I wanna say that from the start of her career until like 2018, I HATED Taylor Swift (😱😱😱). Like I thought she was annoying and dramatic and not a good artist (I know, shoot me dead). The first Taylor Swift song I download was “I knew you were trouble” and it wasn’t new when I downloaded it, it just hit me right at the time. From there it slowly grew, downloading a song here and there. Flash forward to January 2020 and I stayed up one night and watched Miss Americana and the Reputation Stadium Tour. Life changing night. I literally fell in love with her and felt such respect and admiration for this girl. Since then I have spent waaaaaay too much of my time catching up on 15+ years of videos and tea and music, trying to learn every single thing I can about her. It’s safe to say I have an unhealthy obsession and everyone around me is sick to death of me because 90% of the time that my mouth opens, Taylor Swift information vomit comes out of my mouth. #sorrynotsorry. She is the motherf*cking queen and I will Stan for her ALL. DAY. LONG. Plus, can we just bow down to how beautiful her voice is now? How much work she put into improving her vocals? She is a literal angel on earth. 🙌🏻

I'm late but honestly I feel like throughout her career, she wasn't really allowed to be successful by the media. The reason we all hated her cause of the "too many boyfriends" thing was our own internalized misogyny. Now that I feel like we've moved past that (hopefully at least), I'm hoping that she remains successful for a LONG time cause she is SO talented and deserves her platform in my opinion
@isabellecockbill31804 жыл бұрын
I think what she has to say about deprogramming the misogyny within herself is super powerful. As women we're brought up to judge ourselves and other women in ways that we wouldn't a man. I love that she talked about it and accepted that she had work to do, because we all do.

Totally agree. I love writing and when I was about 13 I used to write like crazy, and I ALWAYS needed people to read what I wrote to feel like I was doing good. And the fact that people often take this as you being a covert narcissist is disgusting. It’s not that we like to manipulate and want attention, but we need to know if we’re good at what we’re doing. And the only way to do that is to seek approval from others and share our creations. It’s not narcissistic, it’s basic human behaviour.
