Hey guys surprise!! Umu worked hard to get this out. We know you guys have a lot of requests and Umu is working super hard with this series. Please also know she is attending school and it's a lot of work filming multiple people and editing their reactions on top of her school schedule so please continue to support her!!! - Jay

I just wanted to drop a message that I really appreciate the hard work and dedication you've put to these reactions! Obviously, school is a priority so I think it's amazing that you have decided to contribute so much to the kpop community! enough with my rambling, just wanted to drop some support :)

I really appreciate and amazed how she did all this while doing school. Editing takes alots of time and so does practicing for her school. I hope that she would not be too stress with our request and just find whats the best schedule for her and upload videos whenever you want. I want to say you can ignore our request.... but that would be kinda hard. Hahah. Thank you so much again both Umu and her friends for taking out their time to entertain us with this series.

For anyone who didn't know the theory about Spring Day i will kindly explain to you here. I'm sure some of you have heard about the Sewol Ferry tragedy. Short info, the sinking of sewol ferry was an absolutely heart-breaking tragedy that resulted in a year long media blackout in order to cover the incident up. The ferry was a transport that went from Incheon to Jeju island, that at that time (April 2014) was carrying over 400 people. At some point it sank, resulting in the deaths over 300 people where most of the victims were high school students who were on a field trip at that time. Moving on, if you watch the first scene on Spring Day you can see Taehyung leaning his head on to the train track. There, he was feeling the survivor's guilt. The guilt of having survived while his friends have passed away. And then there was Jungkook looking outside the window. He is also a survivor, thinking about his lost friends. Next we have Jimin, he even goes back to the sea to reminisce. Next scene we have Namjoon rapping inside the train. Do you all notice the abandoned suitcases and clothes in that scene? Those abandoned stuff represent the students who went on the field trip with their belongings and never came back. It's widely known that the Korean Government has been heavily criticized by the way they handled the tragedy. In namjoon's lyrics he mentioned "Snowpiercer" Snowpiercer is a movie that symbolizes human society, where the people in front of the train (upper class & government) treats the "tail" of the train (regular people) in an inhumane way. And then Namjoon opened the door and we can see a big "OMELAS" sign. As Umu said, Omelas is a name of a fictional town in a book called "The one who walk away from omelas" The book explains about how someone's happiness means someone else's suffering. then we have Jin's scene. He represents the ones who have passed away. He looks up at all the other who are climbing and growing up while he is stuck at the bottom, unable to grow up. The rusty merry-go-around behind Jungkook represents a loss of childhood. And then skip to the part where Jimin symbolically picks up a pair of shoes of the survivor washed up on a shore. And then we have Yoongi sitting on a mountain pile of clothes. Those clothes represents all the victims. Skip to where Jungkook is standing still while the others are running behind him. As you can see there were yellow ribbons tied on the merry-go-around. Those ribbons are similar to the Sewol Ferry Yellow Ribbon Campaign and the next scene is where jungkook finally wakes up and run to seek justice for what happened. and then he thought he was fighting alone but then all the members showed up next to him. And then the train passed by, this scene symbolize that what's done is done. The dead won't come back to life. And then did you see the clothes outside the train? The clothes symbolizes how the dead is outside of the world (the world being the train) next there was a scene where all 7 of them sat on the mountain pile of clothes above the clouds (heaven) this scene symbolizes that all of the victims are in a better place. Last scene were they got off the train you can see a big tree. The tree represents hope, a new life, a spring day not a cold and dark winter day. And then Jimin hang a pair of shoes on the tree. In many cultures, shoes are hang on trees to commemorate the dead.

Thanks for this perfect summary of the mv. It really is heartbreaking what happened to the Sewol tragedy, I remember crying when the news broke out here in PH. I may not be korean but I still feel the pain since I'm also an high school student at that time and most of the victims are sooo young to die, just because of the carelessness of others 😭😭😭

this mv actually is believed to be a tribute to the sewol ferry victims and survivor. But big hit and BTS especially RM said, they didnt want to say anything about the tragedy because it was so sensitive. And let the viewers and listeners interpret it the way they experience how they miss someone. There was a magical coincident though, last year when spring day was released on february, the same year in april , in SPRING season the sunken sewol ferry has been finally lifted off from the sea to the ground, the korean government had a hard time lifting the ferry for a very long time.And magically happens the same SPRING. the ferry sinks 304 passengers, (and in 3:04 - the thumbnail is where jin is at the bottom, where everyone is moving up but not him is very symbolic.) not to mention 250 of them are high school students on a graduation trip to jeju island. And they were able to finally lift it on April 2017. SPRING DAY didnt become the SONG OF THE YEAR in korea for nothing.

Also the fact that spring day has never left the Korean Charts shows how much of a comfort the song is for the citizens of SK.since the day it was released it has NEVER dropped of the charts and I think everyone can understand why.BTS made this song and never openly spoke about it with the fear of being blacklisted by President Park so they made a song and left it to us to interperet and the MV very strongly reflect this incident that shook everyone.It was so big they could've been saved but the president ignorance showed as she refused help from the Japanese and US navy 😞Also further to add on BTS also visited the families without it being told by press and donated millions of won despite still be early in their career.. And we only came to know was when a victims family said that bang pd and the members came to visit the bereaved families

@racqui4138 жыл бұрын
In a nutshell, Snowpiercer is a movie set in the future where the world has frozen over. The last humans on earth (divided into the poor and the rich) all live in this big train that is constantly moving. However, the train is only able to function due to the use of poor children taken from their parents to power the engine, and only a few people in charge know this secret. In the end the main character has to decide if he wants to accept the offer to become the new train conductor and continue using the kids to power the train, or not. He chooses to derail the train rather than continue stealing kids and using them for the engine.
@NexSicarius8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you make an excellent point; the cinema club at my law school had a screening of "Snowpiercer", and I read "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" recently, but I never made the correlation between the children confined in the tiny spaces keeping everyone else happy in both of those before.

it was about snowpiercer not train to busan. about how the government and first class of society are at the front of the train and the poor and non authorities are at the end of the train. and the song was a tribute to the Sewol Ferry that sunk 304 mainly highschool kids in Korea 2014. And the Government and media tried to cover it up and the corruption of society and this song addressed that.

Out of the many reaction videos I've watched, this one gave me a treasure trove of information. I like how you guys discussed the chord progressions and timing, it kinda makes more sense to me now - why Spring Day is so melodic but yet so captivating, that's why I can always come back to it and feel like I'm discovering something new that I'd missed before. Because it's still mainly a pop song but with some surprises and subversion of the architectures that make a typical pop tune. Truly a masterpiece. Thank you for your channel, I love it so much!

@Yunyi's comment at the end: I got the same feeling of bittersweet introspection - and I was reminded of Taehyung's grandma who recently passed away. He was so sad about it for a long time, and the shoes hanging at the end seemed like a goodbye/leaving symbol. ---> It's probably not based on her, but the feelings were real at one point. Reminds me of everyone else I've ever had to say goodbye to too.

As a classical musician and an ARMY, this video hit home so hard for me. The talk about the chord progressions and just real discussions about the music deeper than "wow this sounds so cool" is exactly what I love hearing about BTS since so few people doing reaction videos actually comment on it. Thank you!!!!!

It was about the sewol mv and Bts did spring day because of that and the first thing that he said is I miss u and it even more hard to see us and the scene where jin in the laundry the glass of laundry machine is like the ship and the clothes represented how the people struggled and that mountain of clothes represent that victims that have been lost or died and Bts represents this seven thing Rm:Time Jin:Life Suga:Despair Jhope:Hope Jimin:The Friend or the relative or the family V:Death Jungkook:The Victim So the tree in the ending when jimin hangs jk'shoe bc that represents he is dead and jk closing his eye it means he is accepting his fate and jin did not wear any shoes so that means the victim's life is in danger and the scene where Rm and v talking to each other their planning what time the victim was gonna die and in the begging where v has hearing the train that mean the next victim is on that train but the thing is the noise of the train sounded like a ship being sailed off ; so what happened after the sewol MV is hope didn't help the friends or the relative's or the families of the victim's move on but life did; and where jk was finding the other members there was a scene when the no on no vacancy is flickering and that means the memories of the victim's relatives, families or friends should forge that;that happend and raise up and face their fear and start a new life without them being on their side.

this is my favorite react channel when it comes to kpop specifically BTS. You guys react on everything // members, song, visuals, instrumental song structure, video// and it's all very evenly presented rather than other react channels that just OOOooh every 20 sec and that's it. Plus, you guys are so cute you all look like a lil family and it's so nice to see all your faces and thoughts and laughs :)

Thank you for praising TaeTae at 12.40 .He gets targeted a lot for his vocals even though many professional vocal analysts have said that he has the vocals in BTS. Its just that he is a baritone and BTS songs mainly needs a tenor's voice. He still does so wonderfully in all the songs and personally is the best singer in BTS for me! This song has done justice to his vocals though, no complaints!

I love how they're able to pick apart the music and can analyze its components, and notice things non-musicians wouldn't have been able to spot straight away. Like, I didn't even hear the lower voice (JHOPEEE) in the bg until I listened to the song several times. They noticed more on their first listen than many fans would have done. Bts would be really appreciative that there are people out there who can do that with their music

This reaction is so good, I love that they appreciated the actual music/composition. On another note: It's funny cause I watched some BTS reaction videos from theater kids and they reacted how I would expect theater kids to react (kinda loud and talkative) lol as for the musicians this video is also how I thought you'd react. It's interesting seeing perspectives from two different forms of art react to the same videos. Now I just need to see a cinematographer react to it 😊

like i always said. _BTS IS DIFFERENT_. music wise and attitude wise. and they're the reason i can't even stan any other kpop group anymore. i mean yeah sure there are a few groups that are different but BTS, they're on another level. At a glance, they look just like all the others out there: candy-colored hair, glowing skin, layers of eyeliner, glossy lips. but they're more than that. they're a good group of people. at least to those who don't really follow them know, _their music is good_. and omg i love these reactions i'm new to your channel. and they really focus on the MV and the song itself. :) new subby here.
