Nevada.....I was started the book and couldn't stop reading. It cost me a night of sleep last night. What you fellows pulled off was a total miracle. I think that if I were in your shoes, I might've felt it was too dangerous to even try this rescue. Congratulations. You should be so proud of what you did. I am proud to know the coast guard is looking out for me and my family.

Like everyone else, I also just finished reading the book and was amazed when I found out there was a video of the rescue. Amazing effort by the USCG and an incredible drive to survive by Rudy, Ben and JP. It's hard to imagine being any of the players in this survival drama. I was surprised when there was no "bio" of Ben in the epilogue. Anyone know why that is? Also, it's too bad the KZbin video has no sound. Perhaps this is for confidentiality or security reasons, but sound with the video would certainly have made it more impactful.
@timdowney67214 жыл бұрын
Perhaps no sound because the shriek of the wind and thump of the rotors would drown out everything.

@@nevrock1 yeah. I guess with all the gear when I was reading it I never pictured them in there. The only pictures that came into my mind were Drew periodically in the H-60 (from when he had to get pulled back up and when he first went into the water) and the basket with Aaron hoisting the basket up. Also when JP entered I thought he spread out to lay on the floor. I apologize if I came off as saying that the helicopter was tiny.
