At first the guard looked a little annoyed and the horse jumped a bit because the wheelchair touched him. Then you saw the guard realized he was blind and felt bad about not letting him touch the horse. But really, that could have been dangerous. The military horses are not where you bring this child to experience them. They have so many places that would be so good for him and animals that are used to these special needs kids.

The father wasn’t careful at all with the wheel chair. It was dangerous and they were right to ask him to move further away from the horse. The horse wouldn’t have liked having his legs touched anyway, and that is what the child could reach. The horse would have moved his legs in response to being groped. It wasn’t a safe situation, I agree.

Whatever orders they have, they carry them out. If disabled people are allowed to touch the horses, there must be an order. Otherwise the ban applies to everyone

A blind person's touch is their primary connection with the world. Military protocols or not, to suggest that a child should be denied another sensory experience is, at best, thoughtle and at worst cruel. And before you upbraid me on military procedures, I served 15 years with the colours..

It is unbelievable how many parents restrain a child who is afraid of the horses and force them to stand close to the horse. Way to give the child fear of those beautiful animals for life. 😡

I can tell it bothered the guard the disabled child couldn’t touch the horse. He has a good heart but rules are rules. I can already see a change in the horses. Most look more relaxed without the stress of what to expect from tourists. And, yes, horses are that smart.

Plus, it was dangerous. These are cavalry horses not therapy horses. Therapy horses are carefully chosen for their temperament and ability to cope with sudden movements and mobility equipment and aids. But yes, most horses can be amazingly gentle with the most vulnerable. Horses are just wonderful 🥰❤️🥰

Why do these people not realize they are putting their children in a potentially dangerous situation? Yes the horses are trained along with the guards, but anything could happen at a moment’s notice causing the horse to jump out or over at that child and possibly trample him. My horses are trained, but can be startled, nothing is a sure bet. You know, this is a privilege, not a right and everyone needs to respect that. I couldn’t do it, I would be hollering at everyone “get back, don’t touch my horse”! They are on duty, not petting zoo! Society has become so lazy in their mannerisms and it seems it only takes one village idiot these days for the rest of the people to just follow along with bad behavior!

I think a lot of the visitors purposely go to the side with no signs because they don't want the signs in their photo. They only need to be a few feet away in front of the Guard and horse to see the sign.

If they want their children to be able to touch, pet, hug, and interact with animals, then they need to take them to an ACTUAL PETTING ZOO where all of that is welcomed and allowed! Coming to visit the facility where the king’s guards & horses are posted up is NOT the proper place for that kind of interaction.
