YA fantasy books with little to no spice but perfect angst

Exactly! For me, reading spice / sex scenes kinda cheapens the value of the characters and the story the author has woven. And I agree, I also feel like a stalker 😆

I feel like the Inheritance game didn’t really have any spice just a little kissing here and there 😅 it’s mostly focused on the plot which is nice but just enough romance to keep me reading ✨

@@geegers4316 the entire series as you go on does have more than the first book, which is mainly about the MC and her struggles. I still loved the series, and i think the plot is what drew me in.

@@Folkwhorestanfoerever I don't remember much but its basically two sisters who dont really have much freedom, and one of them wanted to go this magical fair thing where whoever wins would get to make a wish. One thing leads to another and some stuff happens but i dont wanna spoil. but its really an awesome read definetley try it out!

Add Sorcery of Thorns to the list! That book was wonderful and there was no spice at all! A few kisses but the romance was wholesome (and the side plot).

is it just me or do all YA fantasy book have main characters who are ALWAYS 17 a few examples: thiefs gambit-ross shatter me- juliette the folk of the air- jude an ember in the ashes- laia twin crowns- wren/rose AGGGTM- pippa six of crows- kaz inheritance games- avery daughter of the pirate king- alosa

because for some ppl 16 feels to basic or too young, and 18 is an adult in a lot of english speaking countries like the UK for example. so, 17 is the sweet spot i guess. not too young, not an adult. also stays have the weirdest usernames LOLL

i love stephanie garber books SM!! the whole plot and world is just chefs kiss and the characters are real and amazing and interesting and the romance really keeps the plot going while not being the whole story. def putting the other ones on my list!

There are three books in both series but you don’t have to read Caraval first. I haven’t read it but I think it’s about two sisters who escape from the island they grew up on and take part in a magical game. And once upon a broken heart is about a girl whose bf marries her sister but she wants to stop the wedding so she makes a deal with a fate. I hope I could help!
