I completely agree on info dumps in fantasy and Sci-fi. Yes, some things could be shown rather than told, but this is (in many cases) a completely new world you need to learn the ins and outs of, and sometimes info dumps are necessary.

My favourite book series is "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series. I swear this year I've read it at least once a month and I'm so in love with the characters. The solstice night scene in the last book honestly made me feel like they're my family in such a time of loneliness that is 2020.

Hi Elizabeth, I had to chuckle at the end of the video, I would love to see a video of your one star reviews! I love your sense of humor, and I definitely think you would give an honest review. I love the high pony, but I just love your beautiful hair, period. I used to have long hair, and I miss it. I am trying to grow mine back. Unfortunately, I have not had a lot of time to read for the past several years it seems. I used to be a voracious reader, but single mother-hood pretty much put an end to that. All I did for many years was work and take care of my son. For the last 20 or so years, I have mostly read non-fiction, but 'back in the day', I used to read a lot. One of my all-time favorite books is "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. I highly recommend it, and I think you and your husband would especially like it being fans of Winnie the Pooh. I also love most of the late Lawrence Sanders books. The Archy McNally series is my favorite. Recently (the last 10 years) I have been loving the Charlie Davidson series by Darynda Jones. "First Grave on the Right", "Second Grave on the Left", Third Grave Straight Ahead"). They go up to thirteen I believe, but I have only read to six or seven. Life got in the way. Thanks for the laughs and the reviews. When I get the time, I will check out your Goodreads list. I always love a good book! Forgot my IB/TWT @LizTDesigns for both Socials. :)

I didn't think this would be a video for me, so I didn't watch it until now and to my surprise, I got a book recommendation and what sold me to that book was a one star review! XD The second book had someone writing it's a book for ppl who likes Firefly and Star Wars and I adore Firefly :) I have tended to avoid getting tips of book since I don't have that much money (I've had months where I had to choose between medicine and food a few weeks, until I get money back for the medicine to be able to buy food) and I prefer to read books in it's original language, which can be a problem since I live in Sweden and my Swedish local library tends to only have a few books in English. But I'm going to put that book on my read list. Well the first book and then this book :P

Mostly because, as I was skimming abstracts, I found a study by a group in California who developed a blood test for "early detection and treatment" of autism during pregnancy. i never give any credit to reviews or critiques where they are trying to exert some sense of superiority for disliking it, when the critique turns into a judgement of people who enjoyed it instead of explaining why they did not. i dunno, maybe it’s just me, i don’t like “no room for discussion” people in things like this. also in regards to the second book, one of my favorite quotes is from david mitchell’s cloud atlas (SUCH a cool book btw, I’ve enjoyed all i’ve read from mitchell so far): “But it’s been done a hundred times before!” -as if there could be anything not done a hundred thousand times between Aristophanes and Andrew Void-Webber!
