Girl! I have severe medical anxiety. If I feel a weird pain within 2 minutes I have my self diagnosed with something horrible and my funeral planned. I 100% know where you are coming from. Thanks for being so open and vulnerable about stuff like that. It helps me feel like I’m not alone. My brain is my worst enemy.

I read this book called Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski and they talk about that feeling that you were talking about. I don't think there's an actual name for it, but it basically means you/me/we have to close the stress cycle. Cause your body (like you were saying) doesn't know the stress is over, so you have to do something to let your body know you are safe. The advice in the book is to do some sort of movement: walk, lift weights, dance around the kitchen to Beyonce, etc. Doesn't matter what it is but movement is key. The book goes way more in depth into the science behind it, def recommend it if you are ever in a nonfiction mood.

The best remedy for a dry throat and nose is a combination of steam inhalation and a humidifier. Inhale steam - literally boil water in a pan, maybe put a bit of rosemary or mint in there, or a tea, and then plonk your head over the pan with a towel over your head, like a little tent, and inhale the steam for 20 minutes), and then, about 20 min before you go to bed, put the humidifier on, and leave it a bit while you sleep. Most have timers. Some people use essential oils with both of these but I don't recomend that, it always irritates my skin and nose.

This method saved me when I had covid - I coughed so much I threw up and couldn't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time for WEEKS. The above literally saved me and provided the only relief I felt in weeks.

omg girl i soo feel the medical anxiety. i made a notion page to track my symptoms because they have been ~weird~ recently so i need to have some kind of idea of what's going on by the time i get to the doctor. because of course my social anxiety fights my medical anxiety. i also have to add that i have a candle lamp and i loooooove it. i find it just as effective once it gets going and it helps me not worry about fire. because sometimes i go to fill my water bottle and my ADHD keeps me out of my office for an extra hour while my candle burns unattended.

You need a candle warmer! You get all the smell without burning the wax down. They have some where you can adjust the heat and others are plug and go. They even make air freshener sized wax melters!

I have a few for my forvrmood candles because I want them to last forever, I just feel like the scent gets weak over time! Maybe I’m just imaging it tho tbh 🤔
@LeoGirl80 Жыл бұрын
@@oliviareadsalatte I have noticed that some candles get weaker if you use them on the melter every day for long periods of time, but I’ve also had some candles that doesn’t happen with. I think it depends on the brand of candle.
@Claudia-kz6eh11 ай бұрын
Re the candle lamp, the melted wax will eventually lose its smell as the oils are released. We you notice you aren’t getting a smell anymore poor off the melted wax and the lamp will melt the next layer down which should through again!
