Olivia, you have no idea how badly I needed this video. My 83-year old grandpa fell last night and can’t even sit up in bed on his own anymore. He’s so weak and my grandma, my hero, is taking care of him full time now, but I can see how it’s breaking her. It’s been a very challenging 24 hours and I can’t wait to step into the kitchen now to prepare a warm meal for my family and grandma, since grandpa will be in hospital soon. There may be little value in this statement, but the weight on my shoulders (and ADHD) refuses to let me move on without saying it. I watch a lot of booktubers, and you are by far the most comforting. You have the most sunny personality and I don’t get to watch as often as I’d like. But when I do, you absolutely uplift me from the dirt and somehow rearrange my entire mental state. I’m a writer, a prepublished author, and the past year I have not been myself. I’ve been living in an alternate reality, a dark place, building a world with nothing but the shadowy crevices of my mind. This week specifically has been one of the hardest for me. I’d like to say it’s writers block, but it would be a lie. I have plenty to be grateful for and sometimes feel I don’t deserve the right to have moments of “downtime” or moments of “sadness”. But I ended a characters storyline this week and somehow inadvertently fell into “the hole” and absolutely could not get out. I’ve been grasping at the end of a rope that’s not far out of reach yet I couldn’t find the push to just use the tips of my toes. Today I sat down and thought: you know what, I’m going to watch Olivia “live” so that I can, and here I am living vicariously through you because I can’t live through myself right now. Your light is so bright that I can feel it here where I am and you have no idea how much I rely on the uplifting voice that you give. I only hope that you know how incredibly influential you are and if you don’t, I’ll be that megaphone and scream it all the way from the back. Thank you for being you. 🤍
