Gabby, this is about your Reformatory Live. I didn't see a way to contact you there. PLEASE read the Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead!! Way shorter, more suspense than horror. There is also a nonfiction book called WE CARRY THEIR BONES by the archaeologist from USF who found a ton of extra bodies at the Dozier School for Boys in the Florida panhandle. There is also a documentary about the boys who are old men but still alive. I am a geek, this really interests me and so far early in the year, I can see The Reformatory or Nickel Boys as my book of the year. (Nickle Boys edges out past The Reformatory )

I would love to see a video on how you journal and also, it looks like you have a hobonichi calendar, on how you use your calendar. I just recently got a hobonichi calendar/journal, and I LOVE it! But I’m always looking for different ways to utilize it.

I'm still figuring out how to use the Hobinichi calendar, and I'm not sure how I want to set it up yet! I'm definitely using the weekly and daily pages more than the calendar pages!

@@gabbyreads I’m still in the beginning stages of figuring out how to plan as well. I use the monthly page to mark moon phases, pay days, holidays, and appointments. Then I use the weekly days for tasks, and the daily pages for journaling. I’m watching a lot of plan with me videos right now! Some people write things in on the days of the week, and then go back through to note what they did/did’t do and also “memories”. I’d like to be able to do that I think.

I read The Reformatory for the Book Troop and gave it 5 stars😁! Usually books over 350 pages intimidate me (that's not Stephen King) but I FLEW through the book..the audiobook was so good!

Being from Florida and living through Hurricanes, I dread Hurricane Season coming some times, so I'm not really into reading about it. I live inland so we don't get it to bad , down trees and losing power, thank God is the only real problem we've had.

So I have an idea for a thriller reading vlog. I know you said you like hiking books so why not do a thriller hiking or outside thriller vlog? I have a few suggestions I think you may like. 1. Those who wish me dead by Michael Koryta (Like no exit but in the woods instead) 2. The Hike by Lucy Clarke (Vibes like the movie The Descent minus the monsters) 3. The couples trip by Ulf Kvensler (not book or movie rec but its not as clear as you would once think) Those are the ones I have but all 3 I liked/loved.

Gabby, fyi, in case you're not aware of this, The Traitors, which my friend and I have been watching for about 6 months -- has had seasons in the UK , Australia, New Zealand and Canada too. One season I believe so far in Canada and I think two seasons in the other countries mentioned. I have an internet contact who has burned those international seasons onto dvd for me, otherwise I'm not sure how you can watch/stream them but maybe there is a way....I haven't really researched it. We're like you -- obsessed with it! It's so much fun to watch and talk about 😊 I'm in the middle of this vlog -- enjoying it! I liked how you did some baking and that you're being good about going to the gym -- great work!! Hope you get a 5 star in this vlog, I'll keep watching.

Bummer that you didn’t like The Resort! I got it from BOTM so I’ll read it eventually, but I’ll go in with lower expectations now! Side note, I thought I was the only one underwhelmed by Usher’s halftime show. I found it so meh!

I just read a horror book you might like. It’s called Night Shoot by David Sodergren. It’s about a group of film students that break into a mansion to film a movie for their film class. But unbeknownst to them there’s something evil in there with them. It was freaking awesome!

I do understand it's a video log but still it seems to me you're too focused on dnf'ing, which perhaps is a leftover habit from before turning professional. Ofc idk but it's an experience I've dealt with so projecting it into you seems pretty easy : ) By the way, I live in South Florida and have therefore been thru several large storms. In fact once I had to be at an elementary school at 7:30 to cover for a teacher so I drove there but upon arrival learnt it was closed for the hurricane that jagged our way during the night. In other words, I was driving thru one without really knowing. Like most of my neighbors I've stories but for people from the Pacific NorthWest likely they sound much more interesting and exciting than they really are. I will say that after the storm passes it's very, very dangerous bc you never know what is in one of the gigantic puddles. So, it's not surprising a writer will highlight the family drama as the tension brings out old family dramas. Take care, Gabby - it's good to see you again : )
