One thing to mention is that the heart silhouette changes in size depending on how the CXR was taken - PA films have smaller hearts while AP ones have bigger ones.

Lộc Trần there is an angle present in between costa and diaphragm termed as costophrenic angle. U can “ consider “ this angle as apex of triangle and base of this triangle to be formed by lungs “ Fine marking “ ( this triangle appears darkest ) Costodiaphragmatic recess is present in region of this triangle. Which gets obliterated during effusion.p thus appearing lighter.
