tbh I understand the Kasumi comment lol. if you weren't a Persona fan going into vanilla P5, and you were excited for Royal (especially since the fandom knows how these rereleases work in terms of the story), I wouldn't fault you for being led to believe Kasumi was gonna have a MUCH bigger role. while the base game itself gives us ALOT for Kasumi's character, including a Confidant, not being able to play as her until Maruki's palace is honestly a HUGE miss. they could have had Kasumi playable at least during Sae's palace since she does save Joker. these reviews are killing me tho lmfao

Honestly, it's really the fault of the fanbase who will always find a way to bash Atlus for any change or additions to the main story, even if it's so small and minor, they shaped Atlus to be this way. One KZbinr I know always blames Atlus for these things claiming they're a bunch of idiots, but really, he should actually bash the "They Changed It, Now It Sucks" fanbase for shaping Atlus to becoming this way. Another KZbinr is the perfect representation of a fan who expects the original story out of the rerelease, like in his videos, every single alteration or addition a rerelease does for the main story in anyway shape or form, he always beats it down like it ruined the main story while when talking about Royal, he praises it for not following this mistake (These are legit his opinions). One commenter I know of actually takes the way Kasumi was treated in Royal as if her only real purpose here is to hammer in on the fanboys and please them, much like how Aigis was betrayed in the P3 movies.

The fact that normal enemies are actually dangerous until you learn their moves and equip the correct persona to mitigate risk is one of the best things about Persona's combat system. Actually makes you use the game's systems if you don't want to become close friends with the game over screen.

I always wonder how bad these people are playing to loose like this, do they think turn based combat means press the attack button then wait for the enemy to do something and repeat?, like I’m bad at strategy games but even I can get through the game (at least until sae’s palace, still playing right now) in hard mode (excluding Kamoshidas and Okumura’s), then again I’m the kind of guy who is level 60 at sae’s, has 125hrs, multiple level 70-80 personas and an Alice with Just die, Die for me, mudo boost and curse amp
@Mrnoob951 Жыл бұрын
@@tomas_iss7469 I don't really blame people for being bad at JRPGs. Too many RPGs that just use combat as a means too fill time between story events instead of actually presenting any challenge too the player have taught many people that yes you can infact just get your numbers really big and attack spam your way through most games until you get too maybe the final boss and the super bosses. The best Persona/SMT bosses have the exact opposite design philosophy. You can grind all you want too but 1 it's gonna be slow as molasses once you start to get over the level the devs expect you too be at and 2 it's not going too help at all unless you overhaul your strategy in most situations. I think the boss that adheres too this philosophy the best is Minotaur from SMT4. Players that encounter that boss for the first time will find themselves getting torn up by high crit low accuracy single and multitarget physical attacks that cannot be outhealed even if you get lucky and he doesn't actually land any crits (not likely). Lowering his attack power isn't an option either because he has a move that let's him raise it by 2 levels (buffs stack multiple times in most SMTs) every time he uses it so you'll oom yourself trying too keep up with that. Even with all of that going against the player there is still a solution that will kill him pretty consistently and it's pretty simple. Just stack up a few sukukaja and sukunda and those deadly physical attacks get turned into Minotaur throwing away his entire turn by missing. Minotaur has no way to undo accuracy debuffs for himself or lower the player's dodge so once you got the buffs established your pretty much safe.

One actually fair criticism is the underuse of Yoshizawa. I can get behind her not joining for the Casino because of overlap with Akechi as the Bless user (and his knowledge of her past), but she absolutely should have joined for the Cruiser and Mementos Depths to replace Akechi and round out the party. Yes, they would have had to reanimate some cutscenes, but it would have integrated her into the team so much better than having her join just for the Laboratory. That arc was amazing, but I wish she got more time beforehand (and more time to use Cendrillon instead of just rushing her to Vanadis)

Though I have my problems with Persona 5, mostly from comparing the game to previous entries of the franchise or just personal tastes, I can't understand these comments calling Persona 5 a bad 0/10 game. Yeah, I like Persona 2,3 and 4 more than Persona 5 but I could never unironically call Persona 5 a bad game. And the comment calling the soundtrack a "total bust", I don't even know how to help you there buddy.
@vorpal222 жыл бұрын
I fully agree with you (although I have not yet played P2). P5 was a step up in many ways from previous entries (finally, dungeon design) and had an amazing soundtrack and user interface. My only problem with the game is that I found almost all the playable characters truly unlikable and the catchphrase "Take my heart" makes my skin crawl off my body over to the balcony and jump off the edge... it is just so cringey.

I thought the main reason people hated the airlock puzzle was because of how long it was, not that it was difficult.

@@rac1equalsbestgame853 Then you’d adore it because it’s one of the best JRPGs ever made; if you love them you’ll be fine. Play it on normal if you go Switch edition to get the real experience. Matador is where you will learn SMT 3 don’t fuck around lol. If you make sure you’re constantly adjusting demons and always buffing and debuffing, it’s not as hard as everyone says. (On normal.)

When I played Persona 5, it was the single best video game I had played since Final Fantasy 9 back in the day. Mediocre after mediocre JRPGs have seemed to crush the genre. Although many of us JRPG fans tolerate them, let's be honest.... The 90s of JRPGs the Japanese artists were competing with the likes of the Disney Golden Age era of films and Hayao Miyazaki (yes video games keep up with films, tv shows and anime, pop culture is pop culture after all)... Somewhere in the 2000s anime started to get really good at about that time, while 'mainstream' JRPGs flipped to 3rd person perspective and went through their PS2 PS3 era.....stiff low budget 3d models that would just kind of stand there and wave their arms around robotically, overly generic grindy mechanics, repetitive dungeon crawling, clunky stiff action battle systems to replace the turn-based ones, and generic stories. (Although series like Pokemon were good to a degree in my opinion) Most of these games, let's be honest, we had to look past quite a lot of the problems to enjoy them, for example the Xenosaga series or Ys, or Grandia or FF12, Nier or Star Ocean or Dragon Quest. Persona 5 for me just hit on all points. It's sleek, quick, cool, stylish, it doesn't feel.....'clunky' in a sense, and it's always interesting, great more classic turn-based mechanics. The reason I'm a huge JRPG fan is the long drawn out stories with tons of reading, the cutscenes and characters. I think to have a great JRPG you really need both story and gameplay, but where-as in the west gameplay trumps story absolutely and completely, and single player games morphed into being 'social', which is terrible for introverted types of people, in the east what I love is that story (i.e characters) can actually be more important than gameplay itself. Well, in any case, Persona 5 has both, and it just seems really well designed, well thought out at every corner. For me, the first 5 hours of this game are just masterful. I've never been that involved in a JRPGs characters since the 90s FF7-9, Chrono, classic Tales days.

I bought this game persona 5r(the ultimate version) on sale for about 37 dollars. So the price wasn't so bad. If people are worried about a game specifically the dlc when will they learn to wait. This is not why I didn't get it til now, it was cause there were other games I wanted more. But I'm glad I didn't get it til now. Love the game

Also I really hate that the prota is always flirting to ALL the ladies, I feel like a creep LOL, it would be better that the game recognizes based on your dialogs if you want to flirt or not and if not, you develop a genuine friendship relationship, not an akward, "I got rejected by the player feeling".

agreed the fact that you can't date men is especially bitter when you consider the fact that the literal theme of the game is freedom and being your most authentic self also the fact that you can date not one but three grown women, one of them being your teacher grooming is okay actually but we draw the line at kissing your homies
