If you're able to get a review copy, I'd love to see a review of "Beginning with New Testament Greek" by Merkle and Plummer, which will be released later this year.

I've always wanted to understand the reason why we should know Greek in order to understand God's message. Thanks for such great lessons. You're extremely great at what you're doing. May God continue to bless you with health and wisdom.

Thank you Darryl for the very engaging and informative grammar review:) I think it would make the learning even better if professors who use this grammar are able to supplement the grammar not just with translating Mark 1-4 but using actual examples in Mark 1-4 to illustrate the concepts from the grammar.

That is a great way of working with Mark 1 and this Grammar! Thanks for the idea!

I really like this grammar. I wish it were clearer on the memory work. Specifically what they think should be committed to memory. I thought the way they had formatted this, it would be obvious, but it’s not really.

Thanks for you helpful review. I got this grammar to do a refresh after completing Mounce a couple of years previously, thinking that it would be good to hit the grammar again from a different perspective. I never got to the interesting take on tense and aspect which you mention. I found the approach considerably removed from Mounce so that it caused me confusion and I stopped reading. I will have to look again to find out what specifically bothered me, but I think it was that noun endings were presented including the stem vowel ending and as such three different paradigms had to be learned for the first declension rather than just learning the one set of endings and rules as to how to apply to the different vowel endings. I also think that paradigms, including verb endings, were presented as a block necessary to learn by rote without enough explanation. This perhaps fits with your thoughts that this is better suited to classroom teaching where the teacher explains the paradigms. Anyway, I’ll have another look at it if only to pick out the better bits regarding verbs.

So I should use this book as a first year like you say.... Then use Mounce as a say, second and or third year? Thanks for all you do. Keep it up for all of us!

This as a first year classroom grammar would work, and then supplement the second and third year with another grammar capable of being used as a reference grammar. I would suggest Decker rather than Mounce since Decker's approach to verbs is closer to this grammar's than Mounce.
