I was listening to The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, but I had to return the audiobook on Libby. I didn't finish fast enough. I have heard great things about Legends and Lattes, excited to read it when I get the chance! Never heard of The Seven Year Slip. Also never read 'None of This is True'--- I enjoy thrillers, so I am intrigued! I books with a podcast in them. Sadie by Courtney Summers was the first introduction to this concept. I listen to audiobooks more than physical books because Libby is free, books are not, and the audiobook being good is always something I look for. I like ambiguous endings, even though I know there are lots of people who don't. Definitely reading None of This is True! I've heard great things about Bright Young Women, I'm excited to read it! I was a bit nervous about A Study in Drowning because I read Juniper and Thorn, and I both enjoyed it, but the plot wasn't plotting for me---- I didn't mind some of the weirdness of the book, I actually found it intriguing. If A Study in Drowning has a plot that plots, I think I will give it a chance.

I enjoyed “Study in Drowning” when I was able to get over the main character’s personality at the start. I didn’t like The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, mostly due to the plot being very minimal and that twist at the end -it felt a lot more sinister to me.

I genuinely hated the weird bioessentialism/racism in Legends & Lattes. Like it was well written? But it just… it just had a weird smattering of “it’s fantasy so we need some fantasy racism!” and I just deeply disliked it and the use of the word exotic *constantly*.

About Bright Young Women, that's a thing that the book emphasized but sadly most book tubers I saw talking about the book ignored, this need to repeat his name. We can talk about him without repeating his name in every sentence. He was just a pathetic evil man.

I thin Irregular Witches is going to be my sort of book, and Bright Young Women is to one of my friend's taste, so I will buy it for her. I'll give Woman, Eating a shot, weird as it sounds, because I am a Buffy fan and haven't read a vampire novel like that. I didn't read A Study in Downing because of the trigger warnings from Booktubers, so I appreciate your review. I have a reaction to many romances, especially YA, that I wish there wasn't a romance at all or that the female MC would just decide not to love ANY of the characters she has as potential love interests. Where is the author who is writing that story? It doesn't have to an asexual or aromantic character - why do all women have to fall in love? There is more to life than love. Attraction and crushes are not love. YA MCs need to learn this! And for adult romances, why can't the MC decide it was just great sex? Not every relationship is "true love". Not to knock all romances, because I do like some of them, but some romantic leads are just so meh that I wonder why they won the heart of the partner. And in some cases, I wonder why the MC is so attractive when she (or he because I do read M/M too) is a hot mess. Avoid those manic pixie dream girls/boys, my friends.
