Wow this is gorgeous!! They way you are able to choose colors and place your shadows and highlights, it brings your pages to life in an unbelievable way. I treasure getting to watch you turn these books into works of art. Thank you for always sharing your process and taking the time to thoroughly explain how and why you choose to do the steps in the orders you do. As well as why something may work or not work depending on explaining the type of paper or thickness a book is and all your many amazing suggestions. Absolutely fabulous, I am always so inspired from you and learn so much, thank you. 🙏🏻🤗

So you use the paints right out the tube and not put them on a palette first? This is looking so beautiful!
@ColoringwithAlena3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this time I used paints taking them directly from tubes. As I didn't mix colors for this background, I decided that I'm too lazy to go search where is my palette, lol

Just watched this. Beautiful, as your work always is. However, you are usually so good about noting what you are using throughout the presentation - but I don’t see the small white jar of a white medium, with which you use a larger brush. What is this substance? Obviously used to lighten the color. Thanks

It's also gouache paint, Titanium White, but by different manufacturer. Usually I use much bigger amount of white paint comparing to other colors, so I purchase bigger size jars. And Arteza white is less opaque, so now I mostly use white gouache by Ukrainian brand 'Rosa' - I like it more

This coloring is beautiful! What kind of paper would be best for watercolor coloring? I'm making my own coloring book and I still deciding if it will be for colored pencils or for watercolors... Thank you for sharing 🤗💗 Marija 💗🎨🖌️

Coloring books printed on real watercolor paper are rare and appreciated by colorists. I found that books by Jade Gedeon (her 'Escapes' series) is printed on paper very close to real watercolor, also all books by Blue Angel Publishing have good paper, suitable both for pencils and watercolor. Unfortunately in many books we have paper which is thick enough for watercolor, don't do bleeding through, but after paint dries some ugly dots appear. It's very common problem, so you will need to test your selected paper thoroughly. In the same time, books for pencils only are cheaper... but to be noticed among many other books they have to have very interesting designs

So guache is used directly from the tube without mixing it with water ?
@ColoringwithAlena2 жыл бұрын
It depends from the texture of your gouache paint (for example' White Nights' are thicker paints, and Arteza has more delicate creamy texture) and what result you want to achieve. Here I wanted good coverage of the paper and smooth mixing of colors, so I used it without water. On other pictures I wanted effect closer to watercolor painting, with more air, more transparent, so I added water to gouache paints

I guess you need to film your first video about coloring books or with coloring process and then to post it on KZbin
