This is the best explanation I’ve seen. I really appreciated the explanation of how to get the warm colors from the cool ones! I am getting my paint right now to start mixing and painting 😊 ❤

Thank you so much for talking through the mixing process. It made more sense to me than just watching. Love your videos.

Cecile! You’ve outdone yourselve! All those leaves…from your garden? I’m such a visual learner, but I still need the explanation too. I was such a “WHY?” child and apparently never outgrown that. I want to make my own mini foliage gallery while practicing all this, a few tubes at a time. Lots of fun & practice ahead. Thank so much Cecile 💐

This was very helpful, Cecile. To see how you picked out the reddish green tones from the blue-green ones, and mixed the various colors, was much better than just reading words on a page. I need to do a lot of mixing and testing now, but every bit of the learning experience is fun since it improves the results. I do love those little landscapes you made. They are very charming. :)

This is so helpful Cecile! I have been practicing green leaves forever, they are fascinating. I would love more color mixing videos and I love hearing your thought process. I recently discovered that I love using Payne’s Gray with my yellows to make some greens. Those landscapes are beautiful, the tiny one especially. Do you paint them from photographs?
@CecileYadro Жыл бұрын
The tiny one is from a photo on Pinterest but I can’t share it as it’s not copyright free. I use Payne’s grey as well for mixes, but thought that not everyone would have it so I omitted it.

I waste SO much paint tweaking mixes. How often have I wiped an entire surface down the drain bc I need to just start over again. As a novice watercolourist, I find the blended / no variation pastes of gouache very challenging to get natural colours. Still learning, still,spending.

You can do it!

I just don't understand why in these sets of gouache and watercolor they give you all these greens you can't even use without fixing and mixing them. I love to mix greens from primaries but why bother include these garish and unreal colors. Does anyone make real earthy colors?
@CecileYadro Жыл бұрын
You’re right! this is why I’m not fond of sets, except for specific needs.
