Reading Journal | How to Track Your Reading

A few years back, I was struggling with tracking my reading, as well as my book buying. Through trial and error, I have developed a system which allows me know what I have, what I read and what I have left.
This video features my physical reading journal (both a flip-through and a printable version), as well as my digital library and reading tracker, which is my proudest achievement (when it comes to google spreadsheets).

I'm a serial journal starter. I have SO many started journals and planners that I get super into at first, then totally lose track and end up falling so behind I just don't bother. I'm really trying to fix that this year! I have a physical reading journal, but I'm also tracking using a few spreadsheets. I'll add yours to the mix as I'm trying to find out what I like best and what works for me.

Oh, I am a serial starter by nature too! I get super excited, then overextend myself with the things I want to do that it becomes unsustainable and then give up. So, my advise would be to start small. Pick one way to track - the one that is easiest. Then give yourself an end date to decide whether it works for you - say 6 months. This way, your brain knows that it has to stick it only for a finite period. If it works for you - you will be looking forward to filling it, if not - you'll know pretty quick, because it will feel like a chore. I actually did a workshop on this topic for my team at work (not related to reading, but the advise is applicable).
