Tips on how i get my coffee to taste a bit better: I add salt (counteracts with the bitterness. Just a pinch will suffice), and I wet the ground in cold water first before letting it brew in hot water (you can do this with instant coffee too!). Hope these tips help!

It’s funny that you mentioned how much the motorcycle noises just irritates you. I have found in my 40’s that certain sounds drive me up the wall as well, and like you one of those is the motorcycle. I am very sensitive to certain sounds these days that just trigger me. It’s odd and I can’t truly explain why but they do. Just wanted to mention that I took have been hating the outdoor neighborhood sounds more than normal.
