For death note I definitely recommend the anime. Some Manga can be hard to follow for beginners

that's a relief to hear! I had a feeling like I might have missed some tropes and things that a more seasoned manga reader would pick up on. I'll try the anime!

Part of the reason for the downgrade in art between Deathnote and The Witch and the Beast, is most likely because Deathnote would release a new chapter every week, which means they came up with story, and had to draw the art in just a week(16-20 pages) versus The Witch, and the Beast which was most likely Monthly...

@zacharyware9083 This is so interesting! thanks for sharing, I had no idea there were different publication schedules but it makes sense. death note is still great, especially now I appreciate the speed

I’m just getting into Attack on Titan this year and currently on volume 4, really enjoying it so far (I’m watching the anime alongside it which has been fun too). Also the Frankenstein story is so weird. It feels like the book is some type of illegal paraphernalia 😂

My friend just recommended the anime to me as well! I can't wait to try it out. haha, I know. Singapore has some weird rules 🧐

Do continue manga videos!!!! Also it's very true that you should not spam through 1 volumes of mangas because you're literally reading the prologue and moving on from those stories that way. I personally highly highly highly recommend Pluto, Frieren, Dorohedoro and Deadman wonderland for short mangas and Berserk , One piece, and Battle Angel Alita for long mangas. Also highly recommend checking out junji ito's one shots/short stories. They're what he's known for. They're all standalone. His long works are his weakest.

Oh this is great, thank you for the recs! I def want to continue reading manga :) That's good to know about Junji Ito - I'm hoping to grab some in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by!

Someone else recommended it but I'll second it-check out a series called Frieren! It's a fairly standard fantasy setting on the surface that gains complexity as you go along, but the unique twist is that the story takes place DECADES AFTER the epic journey.

I recommend you to read 20th century boys. Is like the typical distopia but with so much time skips and flashbacks that makes you try to find who is the main villain's true identity (the answer is literally in the first episodes). It's like 1984 from George Orwell, mixed with Death Note and jojo's (for the western musical references)

If you liked Junji Ito, I really recommend Uzumaki and Tomie, they’re the rare instances where the whole book is one, finished story (unlike most of his works which are story collections), with Tomie you can still feel how they’re seperate stories with each chapter but the main character and the overall plot is still pretty consistent (also I believe Tomie is one of his earlier works so the beginning chapters, while still looking pretty good, are nowhere near the quality of later chapters and works)

For the eyes thing why sometimes there is only one or none, I think it depends on the distance the character is drawn like they are far away so its hard to make out their eyes, But also when close up I've always just thought it was due to lighting in the world of the manga/anime so it hides the eyes if its really dark or what not, And sometimes its just done for artistic sake to make a moment more dramatic especially if the character is wearing glasses.
@StephMorgan_2 ай бұрын
oo that makes a lot of sense! it's such an interesting art style, I really love it the more I'm exposed to it. so much can be communicated with (relatively) so little!

If you catch a manga early enough, it won't have a manga. One of my favorite series going on right now is called "Dragon and Chameleon". It doesn't have an anime but I hope it gets one soon.
