Not only that, but having control over your team allowed you to keep fighting even if hero fell down. It was fun to try and save the battle as tiny mage after you lost your warriors and rogues. In veilguard you won't be able. Once hero dies itvs game over, so not much use for teammates. Also not to mention, team control/power wheels are so dumbed down from what w had in dao or even da2 and dai.

I just personally wish it was explained half the time. There really isn’t an issue seeing a black elf so long as there is a rational conclusion for it, but in every case sometimes you just accept it, like DnD and custom creator fantasy games, it’s their decision + it’s fantasy mind you, far more things go unexplained that matter more. End of the day it’s really not such a large disconnect that it destroys all enjoyment of the content, but it’s a minor point I’d personally like addressed more in the cases it does matter.

I actually am interested in the combat, I'm a longtime fan of the series, tactics is what DA is, but all the comparisons to GoW combat I'm like ok, I'm not getting the tactical experience I want, but I enjoyed GoW combat, let's see if it's ok. The BG3 comparisons are funny to me. No way will this game come close to BG3. DA has been stripped of everything that I loved about BG3 and previous DA games from the choices mattering to being able to control your companions and the tactical combat. I also think some people are overlooking the fact that Larian has a lot more respect, love, trust, and goodwill built up with the gaming community because of how they listened to their fansbase. BioWare has not had those things in a long time. The only things DAV seems to share with BG3 is the option to romance same sex characters, which other rpgs also have, and a few options in the character creator, things that I'd wager don't matter to most players. Most people are looking for good gameplay, fun builds, interesting combat, and a good story with branching narratives in an rpg. To me, it looks like the similarities between BG3 and DAV are very minimal.

Its really hard to have a discussion about this kind of stuff with a lot of people (not all) in the LGBT group because they believe they've been persecuted their whole life, so they're immediately hostile. The problem with the scars is that it's the laziest and shallowest way of implementing it. A toggle for a texture, with the only way to transition being the exact same way we do it in the modern day in the fantasy game. If they actually cared they would have a character creater with insane freedom (like miitopia) where you can then make your own top surgery scars if you so desire. Tried to make my point about how the top scars are lazy shallow modern dayism to some people in a discord server, immediately resorted to insulting me. I made my point, they didn't listen, but I'd like to think that maybe I helped.

It is obvious inclusiveness only applies to what the devs or Corinne Busche cared for, rather than actually being inclusive. Can't give a female character large boobs or butt, can't make your male character buff. Can't make your character fat. Where is the inclusivity? The artstyle looks so soft and plain like a mobile game, just pastel after pastel after pastel. The characters look a bland and generic, not overly feminine or masculine, just kinda default. That's not what I was hoping for, so hopefully they are written well. Qunari are now ugly Dollar Store Tieflings, that pride demon looks awful, and what the heck are even the Darkspawn now? Some kinda offbrand demon suicide squad? It looks like the artists had darkspawn and demons described to them without ever playing or seeing the previous games and made their own version of what they think the appearance should be. Nothing about it feels like a world where the the literal stakes have never been higher. I keep seeing all these minor details that are just adding up to what seems like its going to be a total disaster. *Maybe Solas was right afterall, just let it all burn.*

I think part of the problem is that none of these role playing game players actually know how to roleplay, nor want to and rely on their games to lead them by the nose through that 'role play'. Take a game like Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead: this is an actual roleplaying sandbox. You make the character however you want and do whatever you want for no reward other than the desire to do the things the character would want to do, through his eyes. All options are there for 'body type'. There's all kinds of 'disabilities'. The game isn't inherently sexual but if you wanted to run around being any of the infinite amount of made up nonsensical genders you want, you can. The game even has all of the ridiculous infinite pride, gender and sexuality flags in it. It includes political rhetoric from all sides of the aisle. I despise the insanity of all the politics nowadays, especially from the gender-cult but I had a great time creating a blue hair gone insane screaming 'just stop oil!' at all the zombies and throwing orange paint at art exhibits, and painting symbology on cross walks, and blowing up gas stations and churches...in a world where hardly anyone is left alive and not a soul that is cares about that stuff. I gave her a nice meth habit and a temper problem to go along with her short blue over eye hairstyle and cross dressers wardrobe. It was glorious when she was torn limb from limb by a zombie horde while trying to retrieve her meth pipe from the middle of the intersection she had stumbled and fell on. I never had a greater time in my life pretending to be an insane whack job. I would do the same in Dragon Age but it wouldn't matter.... because they want to lead me by the nose through the roleplay. AKA not real roleplaying.

Now that we're closing in on one month to go before release I can say with 100% certainty that I'm still not impressed. This is a button mashing gay dating simulator. BG3 is hell of immoral, degenerate and did good (even the wokies could enjoy the madness). DA Veilguard was a game I would try as a noob to the franchise, but I don't want that nonesense be the first thing I see before I start a game (male/female, no top surgery, no pronouns because if you choose male it is he/him and female she/her, simple). I am looking at Warhammer Space Marine 2 when it goes on sale for PS5 as it will easily run it and also a noob to that, but it looks like a ton of fun.

9:10 Funnily enough, I'm just running through BL3 because I'm preparing for the 4th game to come out. I legitimately cannot stand playing BL3 for more than 15 minutes before I just have to stop playing. The gameplay is fantastic but all of the characters are just so bland and unfun to listen to speak that it legitimately ruins my experience playing.

@thientuongnguyen2564 Revisiting the Pre-Sequel, it's not as bad as people made it out to be. Maybe I'm biased because I love Jack's character and being able to play him is fun but I genuinely had 10 times more fun on TPS. And I bought it because I was still huge fan of the series, still am but after 3 I'm very cautious about how good 4 will be

Ooof. That First guy (if he ain't trolling) is gonna bree sorely disappointed. There haven't been real choices that actually matter and change things since dragon age origins. And trees obviously been spoiled by bg3 on narrative, choices in dialogue and story, character writing and arch, and the freedom you have in that game. When they say veilguard will be "streamlined" they mean more linear, not open world. Kinda like calling a house cozy instead of small. And just given the stuff I've seen thus far, not really expecting the story and characters to be all that deep. I could bitch about the series all day, but these are probably trollin anyway lol

I am actually missing an option button to remove option buttons for things I don't want in my game. For instance in the character creation I want to have the option to create good looking males and females and not to see the options to create ugly characters with cut off breasts.
