You're better off NOT at the U.C. Schools. I was thinking of applying to U.C.L.A. so I took a couple of summer classes there. It was a terrible experience...the professor hardly taught the class, the T.A's did....I was in classes of over 1,000 students...it felt like a factory! Several of my friends from high school went to U.C.L.A., U.C.S.D. and U.C. Berkeley and hated their years there for the same reason I described and even more. NYU is a great school...I wish you good luck!!!

Best advice: go where you can afford! I went to a state school where I got a full ride! Other friends of mine went to expensive schools and will be in debt until they are 50! Not worth it! The name of your school has very little (if any) weight in job interviews!

A school might be cheaper, but another school might have more resources/specialized programs that will help you meet your goals better. Not saying cheap schools are bad (I go to a community college), but some schools that might happen to be more expensive can prepare students much better for the field they’re going after. Sometimes some debt is worth it, but hopefully you won’t have to go into too much debt as an undergrad.

The thing about top canadian universities (mcgill, ubc, u of toronto) is that there aren't many unis in canada, so their acceptance rates are high because of their very large classes(61k students at U of toronto). But these unis (stated above). are ranked in the top 35 in the world (according to QS rankings).

I can relate so much!! Accepted to my reach school (Georgetown University) but I was rejected from UNC Chapel Hill and waitlisted at Emory University, both of which were schools I thought I was part of the average in terms of GPA, SAT, etc.

Kira Pomeranz UNC Chapel Hill do not check your GPA. They check how difficult the courses that you had took. My sister's friend got accept by UNC Chapel Hill with a 19 in her ACT, and I guess they accepted her because she is in an early college school.

Ting Zhang I’m a Middle College high school student myself and I have a few peers who got into Chapel Hill with lower ACT scores so I kind of agree. But also we’re NC residents. I’ve heard that the chances of out of state admission to UNC are very slim.

Sophie Yates I think what helped get me accepted was my alumni interview, because that went really well, but overall I’d say to make sure you have strong essays that show how you are as an all around student. I’ve met people with SAT scores in the 1200s who’ve gotten in, so I think they really focus on essays. Sorry I’m so late to reply

Ayyy I’m from DC so I’m pretty close lol. Also don’t feel bad about not getting waitlisted at UCLA. I did and it was the most complicated thing ever. Like I didn’t even know at first because it didn’t say until the bottom of a seemingly rejection letter, and then you had to apply separately to the waitlist by a certain date. You also had to basically guarantee you would be coming to UCLA if you got in and I was like hmmm idk about that out of state tuition. Soo whatever

Congrats on your acceptances! But for UofT it’s way harder to get accepted at St George campus than Scarborough and Sauga (lol) and even more difficult to make it through first year (after first year is when you actually apply into your program) since you need almost a 4.0 gpa for some majors. Just an FYI.... Sauga and Scarborough are satellite schools making them easier to get into.... I know you indicated it wasn’t easy post edit but just a FYI.... getting into NYU is amazing though!

U of T has 3 campuses however the main campus is significantly harder to get into. Also it depends on the program too, but generally the programs you applied to are less competitive. Anyways congratulations for getting into your dream school!

You can transfer into another UC once you are in the UC system! Basically if you get into Merced you can apply to transfer to Davis, LA, or Irvine and etc. Because they are in the same system. Idk about CSU's because I really want to apply to Davis after I get my associates through CC. Med school is too frickin expensive and I REALLY want to study abroad!!!
