reading my most anticipated books of 2024.. were they worth the wait?

i have officially spent days thinking long and hard about this. and i have changed my ratings. taming 7 is a 4⭐️ and god of war is a 3.75⭐️ and that’s where i’m staying. my ratings for both full series are this (now that i’ve finished and allowed myself to think about it) boys of tommen: binding 13: 5⭐️ keeping 13: 5⭐️ saving 6: 5⭐️ redeeming 6: 5⭐️ taming 7: 4⭐️ legacy of gods: god of malice: 5⭐️ god of pain: 3.5⭐️ god of wrath: 4.5⭐️ god of ruin: 3.5⭐️ god of fury: 5⭐️ god of war: 3.75⭐️ clearly this is a very serious and important topic to me. xo, larry

I have a theory that Lizzie was abused by one of her parents. It's a wild theory and it's probably not real. I think one of the reasons for her parents' divorce was child abuse. Like we know Lizzie was a pretty happy child before her sister's death, so I'm thinking that apart from a mental disorder(probably, bipolar, or some mental illness. I think it's genetic: that one of her parents passed on their disorder down to her) one of her parents' tiggered their disorder and used it to abuse Lizzie verbally when they lost Caoihme. What if Lizzie's cutting was because of her parents'constant verbal abuse and blaming her on her sister's death. I think one of the main reasons she blamed Gibsie was caused by the way her parents abused her, so she let her anger out on people, because she was abused. Idk. It's just a theory. I perfectly know that Lizzie's mental illness isn't an excuse at ALL. I would like to know your guys thoughts down below.🥰

Think my biggest issue with the book was the fact that everyone knew Gibsie and Claire were going to be together and they spent the majority of the book apart. Felt like a prequel to their actual relationship, they deserved another book so we could get moments of them truly in love. I still adored it though, nothing could make me hate this series❤️❤️

i feel like eva and eli served their tropes the best. when i finished it for the first time i was just numb bcz it was indeed different than the whole series but then i read it again the next day and realised how different ava and eli were from all of rina's characters. and if you read it as a standalone it was easily a 5 star. but it was still a 5 star for me despite reading the whole series. i understand the people who were disappointed due to lack of characters from other book but i feel like the characters that were important for eli and eva were pretty much present and the fact that it was in a timeline after the uni, it would have been weird if all of them were constantly together. i understand it's fictional but that doesn't mean it shouldn't make sense. and as for the timeline, i was confused af in the beginning as well bcz this is the first time i read a trope like this but i was glad it was not just me but ava as well. so whatever she was going through, all of us were going through. and i absolutely loved like really lovedddddd ava's character. she is the only girl from the series who didn't act dumb or scared when the male character did some nasty shit. like she didn't take nobody's shit and i love me a strong mfc. and as for eli, he was also unlike many male character from rina's universe. he wasn't insecure like jeremy nor did he force himself on eva like kilian did on glyn. the way he took care of her, no men did that for their women in the series. p.s: cleaning ur girl after sex is the bare minimum. and he was actually patience bcz i sure as hell know if cecily, annika or glyn acted the way eva did, their "men" wouldn't react in the same manner. they were controlling afffff. one of the reasons i loved eli the most when he actually let eva go in the end instead of locking her up. that is my opinion of the book.

I've seen people on Goodreads feel the same way about God Of War, and I do too. Feels like a complete different book and EliAva seemed complete different characters. We have been teased about them since Royal Elite Series, and I can't believe this is the story after such a long wait. All the crumbs about them in the past books amount to nothing, this was a complete different story that what I had expected 😢

You know what disappointed me the most about taming 7 (besides the fact that it was mostly about lizzy) WHY WAS THERE NO CONTINUATION OF THE “gibsy getting over his fear for water” plot. That scene (I hope you know what I am talking about) was literally my fav scene of the book and an amazing start of him getting over it and just emotional bonding between him and Claire… was really disappointed when it didn’t continue and it was totally about lizzy….

Taming 7 was a 5 star read for me and I my comfort book for many reasons. I feel like it definitely changed the characters because the story was about how Gerard does wear a mask and only opens up to Claire, and I did like that we saw that. I also think that the relationship felt like a friendship because that’s what it was. They have been friends for the majority of their lives and would die for one another. I think that the heavier topic also made the book need to be less romantic and more overcoming the trauma and supporting one another. Just my opinions though. I would defend this boon with my life

5/6 couples interlapped in the LOG series and it made the series for me. I loved the crumbs in each of the books and finding out what was going on the background as I read each new book. I feel like Eli and Ava were in the background too and while I did enjoy their book (but not 5 star), it would’ve been a lot better if it followed the same timeline as the rest of the series. It felt like its own separate standalone. But that’s just my opinion lol

I'm only on the second book right now, but the way that I'm reacting to it is the way that you react to books that you really really love. It's so good. It might be my favorite series of the Year and I'm only on book two so cannot recommend enough.

Was not what I was expecting and I could’ve done without the on page child SA, the series for me was a 5 star, but I had to give this a 3. I may read again to see if I’m less upset. Taming 7, The Housemaid is Watching, and A Thousand broken pieces were my most anticipated read. Taming 7 had my emotions everywhere and I expected more but like you I’m biased and could never rate it lower than a 4.5

I loved God of War but i did agree with everything you said about how this book kind of stands on its own. it did feel separate from the rest of the series. So i rated it as if it was a stand alone so i gave it a 4.5 stars. Killian and Niko are my favorite so i was sad like you that we couldn't see much of them. We needed more of past scenes from them, especially the missing 2 years. But Eli was actually a sweetheart hidden as a red flag!! I loved his love for her. ^^

And in whole series eli was so mysterious i thought he would be a lot like his father and the book will be dark. I completely agree with you about repetitiveness. At one point i wanted to dnf it. Like the book was stagnant for some chapters. I don't know if you have read asher and reina's book all truths and lies duet who are killians parents. it has the same start. I felt like the plot was recycled then i even felt this book like adrian and lias book. In ruthless empire cole and silvers book, ava and elis start was much different and that's why i was so excited. But rk changed the whole start. And i was expecting whole of log series characters united. My ratings are sadly 2.5 for gow.

Honestly, I think gow was my favourite of the series. It felt more mature, and it was the first book in the series that actually had a plot and not just smut (where sometimes consent was questionable) and we finally got rid of the repetitive kids with god complex chasing each other through forests. It definitely gave me flashbacks to ruthless empire book which was great. I would’ve liked to see more about those two years of marriage tho.

I heard the publishers, edited a lot out of the book because of complaints in the past the book being too long. They treated their story like the other books were a prequel. I would love Chloe would come out with a special edition with all the extras that was taken out for the true fans that want the whole story every little short story of the characters we love I’m glad I got to see your reaction. it was everything I knew it was going to be.

Definitely not just you for god of war, I feel so disappointed. If this book was a standalone about a whole new set of characters that weren’t teased in a different way I may have felt differently. But the way that they were teased and the crumbs we were given leading up to their book it felt so off compared to everything else we had looked forward to. I felt bamboozled lol
