Budd rdc's the pride of northeast Philly! Built by our parents and grandparents. Thanks to you and the people, ownership on down, for the passion and hard work keep our history alive and running. To show the younger generations what pride and hard work is. I live 2 miles south of where these wonderful machines were created. 70 years old and still gliding down the rails. That's American knowhow and pride! Thank you again.

I remember when the Reading railroad’s RDCs ran on the Bethlehem branch. I wish my father had taken me for a ride to Hellertown and back to Lansdale. By the time I was old enough to do it myself, the passenger service had long ended. The only RDC ride I have taken was on the Cape May Seashore Line. That was nearly 25 years ago now. Your Budd RDC’s look great!

Jamie, graphics are first rate. Still marveling at your work on the Pioneer Tunnel Loki. The PRSL ran RDC's through my childhood home and they almost always ran as single cars, sometimes in pairs. Never saw FOUR running together. Sorry I missed this.

Hey Jamie. Good morning friend. I'm very proud of you. Those graphics are amazing. Somehow modern and classic at the same time. Of course Andy's going to drive the maiden voyage of four RDC's together. What's the use of having trains if you can't play with them excellent footage. Wonderful narration I can hear the happiness and pride in your voice. Awesome video friend. I really enjoyed it.

Ah, the sound of Budd. That horn, and that bell just bring shivers down the spine. I'm too young to remember when SEPTA ran out to Pottsville, but I DO remember the Silverliner II and III. And I have VERY vague memories of seeing a Blueliner go by when I was sledding one time when I was really young. And, of course, I've seen footage of those days here on KZbin (fmnut is a good channel for this sort of thing). Watching this just brings that somehow-seeming-not-too-distant past to life. Now all we have to do is extend to Franklin Street once Amtrak arrives! Then there can be connecting service all the way through from Philadelphia, which would be a HUGE boom for every town between Reading and Pottsville. The Reading got Philadelphia-Pottsville times down to 2 hours and 17 minutes with the RDCs. I see no reason why that couldn't be bettered with a little investment. And two hours has been bandied about as being the absolute outermost limit of commuting. And that's leaving aside the ability to commute into READING from the likes of Pottsville and Phoenixville. With Amtrak taking over the Reading-Phoenixville route, the RDCs could be cascaded onto other lines to act as "pathfinders" for the restoration of service, such as Bethlehem-Scranton (and don't we just NEED to re-open Philadelphia-Bethlehem?).
