Great video Jamie. This was a really fun trip. Those CNJ remains were pretty neat. Having the chance to go through the Vosburg was to good to miss.

It's always wonderful seeing RDCs still running. They're fun to watch. I'll be acquiring HO RDCs from Rapido later this year...I can hardly wait. 😊 Nice captures, by the way, Jamie! 👍

From the time i was up there in 2009 to now, you all have rebuilt your whole railroad. I was up that way working on Pan Am, my understanding Pan Am is part of CSX now, NS put a lot into it. I did a summer up there.

did they switch the passenger whistle on 2102 for the fall foilage trains? I am going on the first winter Rambles on the 8th of Febuarary and was wondering if they'd switch the first one back on.
@JamieMakin2 күн бұрын
They had Steve Gilbert's whistle on it for the fall trips as a way to celebrate his 40+ years with the railroad before his retirement in early November. As far as I know the railroad's own whistle will be back on for the February Ramble.

Mill Creek Junction I have photos of Crusader there in all her shining glory. Rode behind 2102 every time she went to Pottsville in the R&N era. Never new Mr Fisher was such a history guy, next time he and I will have to chat more on history instead of R&N passenger trains😃 Would make a decent mini trip Reading to Mill Creek Jtc turn around, back into Pottsville Station, tour Yuengling, have lunch in the Cave there, and back to Reading with 425. Anyway enjoyed the commentary from everyone on this and the sights you don’t see often.
@JamieMakin2 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your memories, and that's a cool idea for a trip. Mr. Fisher is quite knowledgeable about our railroad's history, and I wish I could have him along for every video to fill in the gaps in my own knowledge. Glad you enjoyed the video, and I'm fortunate to be able to keep filming some rare mileage and operational stuff to share with everyone.

Hi there, Jamie. I LOVE 1983 for one reason and one reason only...it's an EMD SD40-2. It's really fun seeing the real thing in action. I just placed an order for my 5th HO brass SD40-2 from Overland Models Inc and I'm ecstatic. I'm trying to stack up on 'em! 😁 Thanks for the cab ride. I enjoyed watching!
@JamieMakin6 күн бұрын
Hey there! 1983 is definitely my favorite SD40-2! Glad you enjoyed the locomotive and SD40-2's in general. Hopefully we'll be painting a few more of them this year, but they'll be the standard green and yellow. Keep enjoying those HO SD40-2's! I still need to get some in N scale.

Jamie, wonderful compilation. I am truly amazed at the number of locomotives, passenger cars and rolling stock R&N has. Much bigger railroad than I originally thought. One question though, your low gondola cars say Reading and Northern on the side of the cars but the railroad designation code is CMSX, why is that?
@JamieMakin7 күн бұрын
Thanks so much, Tom!! It amazes me too how much R&N has going on, and we keep adding more and more all the time. That's a great question about CMSX! I'm not as well versed with freight stuff as I am with passenger, but I'll see what I can find out.

Good Morning Jamie from my work. Nice cab ride on 1983. Unfortunately this year Rambles I can’t make it have to be on Saturday that I work. Although I can call out. However I rather save my call outs for something else or leave early from work. Who knows. Hopefully I’ll catch the 1983 on Freight runs.
@JamieMakin7 күн бұрын
Good evening John. That's a bummer about the Rambles conflicting with your work, but I agree that callouts are better saved for times of true need. There's plenty going on at R&N this year including the return of 425 in the fall, so hopefully you'll still be able to catch some of the fun on your days off.

Good morning Jamie. October? It seems like so long ago.🎉 Great behind the scenes footage! I hope you’re doing well today, friend
@JamieMakin7 күн бұрын
Good evening Dennis! So much has happened in recent months that October almost feels like a different lifetime lol. We had a little snow today, under an inch. It was enough to whiten the ground but not cause too many difficulties. Hope you're doing well and getting closer to getting back to boondocking.

Nice video, Jamie. It seems nice that RB&MN 1983 is doing something new not only just freight, "The LGSR Excursion." At 8:42, I was surprised to see the "George Washington Car" RBMN 563 on the turntable.
@JamieMakin7 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! It was awesome to see 1983 on the LGSR. It's rare enough to seen an SD40-2 on it, so having 1983 made it even more special. Hopefully we'll get treated to it on passenger again someday. RBMN 563 was moved out of the shop in Nesquehoning to make way for some other cars to get worked on, but we are planning to restore 563 at some point in the future.

Thanks so much, Calvin! I hope you're doing well. I've had very little free time these past few months, and it seems I'm only home long enough every day to take care of the cats and sleep lol. The railroad stuff is slowing for the winter giving me a little more time, but now it's way too cold to go in the garage to work on the model trains. Someday ... hopefully! Enjoy your weekend!
