I think there’s a big difference between going to the grocery store and living as if there’s no pandemic. I think going to stores where people are masked is pretty safe. Also at least in Canada we don’t have to wear masks outdoors.

Same here. I did InstaCart delivery at the beginning of the pandemic when it was very scary but I couldn't afford to keep that up. I'm glad that they are being careful being they have the ability to do that. I think it's great for people to stay home if they can afford to. ♥️

My family and I take the pandemic very seriously- we don't hang out with friends, we don't go to restaurants, we always wear our masks, etc. The only thing we do is go to the grocery store- I wish we had the privileged to use a delivery service but we simply can't afford to do so. It's not about taking it less serious, it's just about doing our personal best! I applaud you and Eric's pandemic efforts.

I work at Target. It has never slowed down during the pandemic. It’s like people took quarantine to mean don’t go to work or school, but wandering out Target with no mask (or a mask on, but under your chin so you can drink your Starbucks) is completely fine. Pisses me off so much.

I was seven months pregnant when we went on lock down and I worked at The Home Depot and people took it as let’s finish our unfinished projects and it was heeeelllllaaaaa busy, never slowed down, and still hasn’t a year later. 😩 I ended up goin on maternity leave at 35 weeks (when I had planned on literally working up till my due date) because I was so stressed about getting sick before giving birth.

In new york (the bronx) Target they decided to "solve" the problem of crowding near the registers by making ONE line for all the registers (over 25) so then the one line had to wrap all the way around the store and people still weren't 6 ft apart 🤔. They weren't even 1 ft apart. I was so confused. I walked in to buy one thing, saw this and walked right out haven't been to target in a year.

It is completely different when You’re going to the grocery store or even just shopping masked up, you will not get you the virus by walking past someone for less than a millisecond compared to those who are out partying with no mask. Let yourself go to the stores and such to get out of the house, you’re not hurting anyone

Yes! I have been working in the medical field for years. And during the pandemic have worked with covid patients. I feel very blessed to not have gotten covid, but there are so many precautions you can take to keep yourself safe. Like you said, going to the grocery store and passing someone so quickly, it is very unlikely that you will get covid!

It's NOT just you that's quarantining tightly, Colleen. My family (and lots of others) are doing exactly what you are. My family hasn't been out to eat, not even through drive-thrus, and we haven't gotten any food delivered either. My mom makes all of our meals home-cooked. The only people in our "bubble" are my grandparents and my cousin. So no, it's not just you :)

I live in America, and I am taking this very seriously. I haven't been to school in over a year, I haven't been to a store in almost 8 or 9 months, I've only been out to go to the doctors, and we are fortunate enough to not have to go to the grocery store and get them delivered. I am always wearing a mask even outside. My mental health worsens and I want to join my in-person classmates so bad, but I don't. You're not the only one who is taking precautions, please have faith!

@@xyz2813 I love curiosity so I appreciate you asking! I have faith in the vaccine and if i got it, my symptoms would be less severe. However, I have a member of my family who is too young to get the vaccine and if he got it, his symptoms would probably be severe. Even with the lowered risk of transmission, I would like to keep him as safe as possible. Eventually, I will need to leave the house when college classes resume in person in the fall, but since I don't need to leave the house now, I don't! Hope that cleared it up.

Here in Arizona life is pretty much normal. We go to school, grocery stores, restaurants are open...everything is open. We don’t have a mask mandate either and our governed has removed restrictions on how many people can be in an store, restaurant etc at the same time. Everyone’s out doin their own thing. And our covid cases are lower than ever

Extremely relatable!! We have been super safe here in Massachusetts...our neighbors are eating in restaurants...we are staying in, staying safe, things are shipped to us. I wear an N95 mask with a cloth mask over...when I do go grocery shopping. I love my grocery shopping trips. I LOVE them!

@Taylor Knutson since we’ve been quarantining, wearing masks, and washing are hands more there has been a significant decrease in flu cases and deaths and yes more people have died from the flu because it’s been around a lot longer then COVID-19 and I think it will be a normal thing to wear masks in public or crowded areas (out of respect for other people and ourselves) when quarantine is over. Also you and I may not die from covid but people who are high risk (like the elderly, babies, people with auto immune diseases, etc.) will and you need to remember this.

I've been able to get out and pretty much live my normal life and go grocery shopping and go into work. I live in buffalo NY. but I'm glad you went into a grocery store colleen i think you will be so much happier and it will be so much better for your mental health. obviously you'll still be safe and cautious in public, but you have to still live your life girl!❤💕

i go to the grocery store multiple times a week because its the only way i can afford food & i only wear masks in public indoor spaces. i dont wear one when i’m outside away from people

going to the grocery store is a essential (in my opinion) because some people can’t afford the fees for delivery services. you are very privileged to be able to afford it everyday. it’s not that people “aren’t taking the pandemic serious” when going to the grocery store, it’s just the only way some of us are able to get food.

Exactly. Some of us have to go out and work and have to go do our shopping because we aren’t as privileged as her. We should help support stores too because a lot of those people need jobs and have been struggling this pandemic. Support business and those who need jobs there because it’s all the work they can get now.

I live in So Cal and we have been staying in, using curbside for groceries, and wiping down everything that comes from outside the house. We don't go anywhere, I understand the struggle and the joy to go pick up some fresh produce you pick yourself!!!! Joy in the little this is real!!! You are not alone!!

I feel the same in a lot of ways with the pandemic. My parents work from home and I have online school at home. I only leave my house to go on walks or to waitress on the weekends. We get groceries delivered and only go to the store literally once every two months ourselves, if that, and when we do in my area many people do not have masks on or have them below their nose. I can definitely relate to feeling like I'm not on the same page as others when it comes to taking the pandemic as seriously

There’s a difference between being precautious and a little silly. Going to the grocery store is fine, how else do you think people who can’t afford delivery services even functioned during the pandemic?

Here in Canada, we were in lockdown from November-March. Now stores are open but salons aren't still. At least for my household we are in quarantine except for my mom who still goes to the grocery store but we always double mask up. We are still taking it super seriously. So happy you had a good time at the grocery store, its nice to experience some kind of normal during this pandemic.
