This is literally the only video on YT the visually shows seams and other aspect of water. I have been doing everything wrong for the past 2 years i have been learning to fly fish. Sure, I got luck a few times but this really helps. Thank You

Thanks OneMore Thing! I'm glad we could visually explain seams. It is a difficult thing to find if you don't know where to look. Best of luck out there and we have tons of more great information at drifthook.com/ if you are interested.

Very interesting video. Thank you! How do you estimate the deep of water?
@Drifthook4 жыл бұрын
Hello Allen, thanks for the comment. I typically judge water depth by color. The darker the water the deeper it is. If you are trying to really dial in your water depth presentation a tight line or Euro Nymph technique can be extremely helpful to gage depths. Or if you like using an indicator as I do, you can adjust the placement of your indicator on your leader and drop shot weight of your point fly to get it to probe the bottom of the water to gauge your depth. Hope this helps. TIght Lines!

Am I the only one fishing for food?
@Drifthook Жыл бұрын
No. But out here, our waters are fished heavily, and if everyone took their limit, we wouldn't have much to fish for after a month.
@virginiasolomon93524 жыл бұрын
Great video but man I don't get why people who fish worry about killing fish. I fish to eat. I don't understand fishing for fun and trauma (what you're doing when you catch and release).
@Drifthook4 жыл бұрын
Hi Virginia, thanks for the comment. The reason I practice catch and release is I want to maintain larger fisheries for others that are fishing our local waters. As our population grows in Colorado the rivers would not have fish in them for very long if everyone kept the the ones they caught. Also, because of the history of where I live we have heavy metals in our waters from years of mining so I always get a little leery about eating anything out of them. Thanks for your comment and post.
