You did such a good job recapping this book. That being said I'd suggest looking up the pronunciation of names before doing a recap. It's a little irksome. The worst one is Chaol being called Kale 😭 it's kay-all. Also, Adian wasnt dtrong enough for the ring not to work. He made a duplicate instead. And Rowan never let Aelin go past the wards, she chooses not to listen and croses it anyways.

i've always taken it to be a mark of their mating bond that was in place before they even accepted it ?? but i don't know if she really meant it that way though lol since this was the first books she might not have decided how the bonds fully worked yet and changed things/powers later on

ugh i know i have mixed feelings on it. on one hand i appreciate she's trying to play into the "animal side" of the fae in her worlds but on the other i don't love labeling things with such a harsh binary and we never really see anyone float in the middle or express themselves uniquely becuase everyone is always sorted into the two groups. even when they switch to talking about humans they always make a point of being like "oh man and woman not male and female oops" and it gets old. definitely one of those details i sort of skim when reading if it's not relevant to the moment
