I like following along with you on your classical music project. I pause your video to find the song on youtube and listen, and then unpause you to hear your review. 🙂 I found Vivaldi's song pleasant as well. My version had someone singing. It was very church music in Italian.

I don't take good care of my books, I don't fuss about cracking the spines. I shove them in handbags and backpacks and pockets. But i don't write on them, and I don't dog ear pages. It's not helpful to me actually reading them to be trying to keep them pristine, but I want to keep the text itself legible and rereadable. I have been known to leave a post-it of my thoughts in the back of books i think i might read again.

The Talented Mr. Ripley is one of my favorite books! Patricia Highsmith was a wonderful writer.

I keep my books in good shape. When I was a child I folded down corners to keep my place but I don’t do that any more.

Wow, what a busy weekend! I used to hate my books having any signs of being worn, but these days I love that they have cracked spines and look like they have been enjoyed. Just yesterday I chucked my current read in my work bag and it emerged looking worse for wear 🤣

While watching this post, a charity I support asked me to signup for a zoom meeting. Inspired by your volunteer work on the beach, I told them yes. 😊

Hi Lauren Thank you for your great videos. Makes my day! You had mentioned in a previous video regarding David wanting to learn more. I wondered if he had heard of 'Centre of Excellence' they have loads of online courses. xx

I can't say my books are pristine but I try to keep them in good condition. I use bookmarks and I haven't annotated in a book, since I was an actor and wrote stage directions in the plays I was in. I always kept my notes in my notebook, though I did highlight with a yellow highlighter, but only schoolbooks not fiction books. (I still have a couple of schoolbooks, because I loved the subject, and its been years since I was in school.) I don't mind if my paperback's spine crack, because I do read all my books, and I really don't know how you; prevent it. I don't bend the edges, well I did when I was a teen, but my Grandma taught me to always use a marker and I have since I was about 15 years old. Fun, game you have. I loved the Animal Park, we have one here in San Diego, too as well as a zoo. Thank you so much for your fun posts , you do cheer me up when I am blue.

I’m with you. Last year was SUCH a great reading year and yet this year my only 5-star read has been the reread of a Michel Faber book we did for Jen’s patreon book club.I just don’t understand because I’m still reading the same kind of literary fiction as I was last year

I could not read that many books at once, I would get the characters confused. I always have a fiction & a non-fiction underway & carry a slender paperback in my handbag ... often a book I have read before ...

I'm neither particularly careful with my own books nor do I write into them if I read them for pleasure. When I studied them for school or university I would mark passages and make notes in them.

I hate that fake grass stuff people replace their actual grass with. I personally think it looks awful, and I always wonder what kind of effect it must have on wildlife. I love seeing all the birds hopping around my garden searching for food.

I am not a fan of making notes in books and definitely don't dog-ear them. But, I am quite bad at accidentally spilling coffee or food on them. The perils of reading while eating!

#TeamPristine Good on you and your Mum for helping clean up the beach. People are disgusting. I need to find more series to watch or will have to pause my Netflix too. It’s too much nowadays to not be using it.

Great video!! My personal rule of thumb for animal sanctuary/zoos etc is if there is a breeding program I don’t go. Rescue, orphans and housing hurt animals I support but I don’t enjoy knowing that they are breeding for generations of captivity even endangered I’m more likely to support breed and releasing the young into the wild for animals that don’t require nursing etc lizards, snakes, seals. But I don’t judge others.

Animal parks definitely are concerning but they educate as well as entertain and help children develop a love for animals that can help us protect wild areas better. I just wish animal parks were better regulated and did not have to make a profit.
