Hi Jack! 😊 Thank you for the lovely reading vlog! I haven't read The Road (I'm not really good at dystopian stories, I'm too much of a scaredy-cat) but it was really interesting to hear your thoughts and impressions, and I'm happy you ended up loving it a lot. Your sister's gift is wonderful and very thoughtful, those book photos are beautiful! Honestly I'm right there with you on the struggle bus (which, by the way, is such a great expression, I'm going to steal it and use it too 😂), beep beep all aboard! PS I know it's a bit random lol, but a band that I really love, Editors, have a song called "No Sound but the Wind" that was inspired by The Road. I'm biased but I think it's a lovely song, sad but really lovely.

Happy you loved The Road in the end. I was a bit worried that I had recommended such a depressing book. I loved it too, but the ending brought it down a bit for me. I know that there's a lot of room for interpretation, but for me it sounded too hopeful. I like my apocalyptic reads as bleak as possible.
