If you're interested in science - you should definitely check out The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Henrietta Lacks is the woman whose cells sourced the HeLa cell line. It is such a fascinating book!

Stickers save the day 😂 I come across sticker release notebooks everywhere at the moment hmmmm I think it‘s a sign… I have so many bits and pieces left over from etsy sticker sheets, this would definitely come in handy. But I bet it took you several hours to organize everything in such a neat way? Well, the effort was definitely worth it!

(disclaimer: this is not meant to sound as any sort of jab or anything, simply genuine curiosity) as someone who very rarely listens to audiobooks, i've always wondered... why do you listen with 2x speed? do you manage to not only catch what the narrator is saying but like properly comprehend it? as in the plot etc. again, i listen to audiobooks very rarely as it is, but just the thought of listening to something _this_ fast makes me think i wouldn't understand what's happening at all.

I think it truly depends on the reader but also the narration/production…. I’ve noticed that with New Adult/YA (and even some thrillers) reads I can definitely listen to the audio on 2x speed and fully comprehend. If you read via audio often, you may read from the same narrators and because you’re used to their inflections/voice it’s like listening to a friend talk. Everyone is different but yeah, simple prose is quicker for some to keep up with audio wise in my opinion .

everyone is different! I listen to everything on 2x speed and watch youtube videos on 2x speed too, and for me I'm not able to pay attention to anything slower then that! listening on 2x speed actually helps me be able to comprehend what is being said.
@katherinekaras9 күн бұрын
yeah it really depends on the reader and the narrator. there are some audiobooks that i have to slow down but my average speed is 2x. i have a hard time reading physically because my brain works faster than i can make my eyes read words - so being able to speed up a narrator is a great help to keeping up/focus in a book

I love history too! I’m a pre-k teacher. In maybe 2018 I watched the Boudicca Warrior Queen 2003 movie and it was so good! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipuqi3mZZaeEZtEsi=JNLAJ6WLKQN6kQm1. Have you seen the 2023 version? I need to watch that one. I looked at the new book that you mentioned came out and it looks so good! Enjoy your week!

I didn’t love Emily Wilde 🙈 I feel like I missed what everyone was gushing over it for cuz it started off good but slow and it never picked up. Also the romance was like non existent to me, the two characters had zero chemistry imo

right!? I personally loved the book and the work building but hated the relationship. At first I thought the guy who owned the cabin was going to be the love interest
