I think of it like a palate cleanser. I enjoy reading an eclectic mix of genres. If I read to many intense themes or epic worldbuilding tomes in a row, I need a breather. It is good to break things up. So, lighthearted romance or some short stories do the trick.

I reach for historical romances when I’m feeling slumpy too! something about them really does remind me how much I love reading. though, I’ve only read through Tessa Dare books so far (but not for lack of trying other authors) and now I’m definitely going to try Never Seduce a Scot! I always come out of your videos with such good recs :’) also, you bundled up in that blanket was the cutest image ever, with the exception of knowing how cold you were 😣
