I'm so happy you liked it! It's great to see a dedicated vlog for one of my favourite books! I've read it two times but have yet to continue with the series, haha! It's great that you mentioned that it's a series of companion books, maybe that'll make other people pick it up sooner. I also just recently heard that the third book focuses on Sieh, so that made me want to continue the series faster (instead of just rereading the first book...) Btw, I read in an interview that Jemisin worked on the Dreamblood books first, got her agent with The Killing Moon, but it didn't sell then, so she wrote the Inheritance trilogy and then got back to The Killing Moon. I agree that The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms is so well written, it really doesn't read like a debut!

I think The Reluctant Prophet by Gillian O'Rourke has a few characters who are gods, but they're not the protagonists of the story... it's still pretty damn good (and underrated), but def check out the trigger warnings if you're interested!
