Loving your year of reading impulsively. Oooh I may need to pick up Pity, I'm from a north east industrial town and now live in South Yorkshire (not Barnsley but near). It sounds great. A single man and this is how you lose the time war are both already on my physical tbr, I know I'll get around to them.....eventually......I need to try impulsive reading and sack off the readalongs next year. But first I need to finish the readalongs because I'm that sort of reader. I wish I could not remember the plot of films so I can read the books without the film being in my head, it's one of the reasons why I haven't read a single man yet (although I know I can't remember everything, the more I think about it the more I remember of the film 🤦 curse my weird memory). It's also why I still haven't read Never let you go, I know and remember the reveal, I've been waiting to forget it for about 5 years and I watched it probably 10+years ago ... but no ... I'll just have to read it knowing the reveal. The employees does sound so good, I was also aware of it also thanks to Jen Campbell and have been keeping an eye out for it, but not seen it to pick up yet.

Ohhh well definitely pick up Pity it sounds like it'll hit the spot! I know what you mean about readalongs. I love the community of them but I definitely struggle when my reading feels too much like it's being dictated by things other than me 😅 I've re-read Never Let Me Go so many times because I wrote some education resources on it a while ago, and I actually think the book works really well knowing the reveal - if that helps!

@@hannahlosttheplot that's good to hear as everything else I had heard about it was all about how to read it before the form to avoid the reveal for the book, so I'm glad to hear an alternative view.
