My plans for the rest of this month: I bought my fave coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Bought Lush bath bombs and some face masks. Also bought some fave scented candles. GAME PLAN: I plan on soaking in the tub with a bath bomb, a face mask, some candles, a drink, and a book EVERY DAY so that I'm so pampered I forget what a dumpster fire my 2019 was.

Me: wanting to actually read something. *remembering i need to catch up on Reagan's videos.* Me: listens to Reagan talk about books she is reading for 45 minutes straight and never picking up a book. LOL I have been in college for 8 years straight. The last 3 of that has been busting butt and that means no reading for fun. I bought a few new books that i really think i will love and honestly, reading academic books for the last 8 years has made the task of reading a chore. I can't seem to pick up a book to actually read for enjoyment now. Seems like in this vlog you had a similar issue of "life" tasks getting in the way of reading and plus your reading slump this year makes me feel like i'm not the only one who can't seem to read when they may want to. I did however pick up The Raven Tower bc of one of your recent videos and i'm SO PUMPED for it and hopefully i can find it in me to just pick up the dang book and JUST START READING!!

I just watched this (because I love your vlogs, and save them for when I'm feeling stressed) and I agree so much with what you said about Starsight! I loved everything about Skyward and then I honeslty was kind of disapointed in Starsight, because of the character's. Especially Jorgen, like you said, he felt one-dimensional. I also felt kind of like he and the other old character's became caricatures of themselvs, which was sad because I love them so much. Still excited for the next one though :)

You should get a chemX! they’re the absolute best drip coffee. Easy to use and clean. :) and it’s totally analog. I’ve had all my French press’s break or have a really gritty flavor because the grinds are at the bottom.. chemX is a much cleaner flavor.

I read Starsight right away when it came out and I felt like I was the only person who liked it *less* than Skyward - watching you read this made me feel less crazy because it is pretty much how I felt too. I didn’t hate it, but it was missing the spark that made Skyward SO GOOD. I feel like I may like it more in context of the full series, but I honestly have no idea what to rate it or how to review it even after sitting on it for weeks!

The Nevernight series is supposed to be in the adult section cause it's an adult series. Jay Kristoff has even said on twitter & his blog that the Nevernight series is not YA it is Adult. Bookstores just mistakenly put it in YA for some reason. He's even mentioned how he's gotten complaints from parents about their kids reading this series. But it's not his fault it's the bookstores' fault for putting the books in wrong section leading to kids who probably shouldn't be reading it picking it up. All I can say is if anyone sees this series in the YA section, tell the store employees that it's in the wrong section & that it's an adult fantasy series & is supposed to go in adult fantasy.
