Your wedding is so close!! That's so exciting 😊 I haven't read So Happy For You but your critiques if it was so thorough. Social commentary is important and I totally agree with you about books that have heavy-handed/in your face social commentary. I'd rather it be subtext, that way it's a theme and weaves into the story line rather than it feeling like it's been plunked into a book 🤷‍♀

Yes it's such a hard thing to do honestly! Sometimes I'm ok with heavy-handed if the writing and everything around it is stellar (Chain-Gang All-Stars), but here I felt it detracted from the 'fun' element of the book. The book is ultimately really silly, so I felt the tone was not mixed quite right
