I 100% agree with the romance subplot opinion. I find books with lots of action and characters working together in the action so much more entertaining than just watching the characters swoon over each other for 300 pages 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I love a good romance, but romance subplots are just so much more fun!

I personally feel like booktook is the gateway for non readers snd people who haven’t read in forever. Like the books are mostly geared towards that demographic so for more seasoned readers they may come off a bit bland and basic 🤷‍♀️ thats my hot take

Verity is one of the only coho books I’ve enjoyed, even though I also saw the 'twist' coming from a mile away. For me that book was more about the experience, the chapters that were in veritys pov were just so eerie and awful and that’s what I liked about it. It’s still so good imo even though it definitely is predictable 🤷‍♀️

5:20 - FR! I hate it when someone describes a book as an “enemies to lovers” for the sake of convincing people to read it and hyping it up. 6:05 - Who doesn’t? I don’t even want to update my Goodreads with certain books I read because then the naked man in the cover will appear with the rest of my books. 12:30 - no 13:52 - Did they lie!? Did they lie!?

Loved this! I love seeing other peoples opinions on books and things that are book related. Like how you didn’t love the Spanish love deception and I did! It’s a beautiful thing seeing different opinions and still being able to talk about them like adults and respect each other’s opinions. Also agree with you Destiny, I 100% judge a book by its cover.

I agree a lot with the “the Spanish love deception” comment because I felt like everything went way too slow, that once it got to the end, everything was rushed between the characters. I also felt like because the book was so overly hyped, I expected so much that I just ended up getting disappointed with the reality.

Love this video! I would love to see a part 2, this was such a fun idea! My unpopular book opinion is that the grumpy sunshine trope is more often than not really annoying. That was the main reason I DNF Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score. Knox was so annoying to me. I just feel like he had no manners and no reason to be as rude as he was. During their first meeting I was literally cringing from the way he was acting. I think I just prefer characters that are simps (ex. Atlas, Elliott, Archer, etc.).

I’m reading the off campus series right now, and I know they’re all a lot alike. I’ve been reading other books(that are a bit heavier) in between them though & it is making them so enjoyable. They’re like a bit of fresh air after the darker reads.

I agree with hating Ugly Love. *SPOILERS COMING* I can’t seem to understand why nobody is talking about how Miles knowingly got his stepsister pregnant (well okay he didn’t know she was his step sister at the time, but their parents were dating). Why was everyone okay with the two of them having a child together??

I agree with hating it too. But it's not just about the step sister thing (which was disturbing👀). It was also due to how emotionally manipulative he was towards Tate. And how for some reason Tate had no backbone to say no. Like I get it she was "in love". But I just can't look past the way he treated her at times. The boy needed therapy not a exclusive sexual relationship.

Okay so I LOVED Verity when I initially finished it, gave it 5 ⭐️. But after sitting on it for a week or so, I gave it a 3 ⭐️. A lot of the book was unnecessary for the story. Definitely look up trigger warnings. Literally put me in a book slump for almost a month though.

I think bully romance books are literal trash, I can’t stand miles and Tate from ugly love, Colleen Hoover books are way too overrated in my opinion, I don’t like November 9 , I couldn’t get passed the fact that Ben started the fire and Fallon overlooked it 😂😂

I could not like It Ends With Us..... Like I tried so hard, but no. Toxic me wanted/waited for Ryle's redemption. There wasn't enough for me to love Atlas as a character like everyone else. I don't get it. Lilly was kind of annoying. I went back and read it a second time and like .....no.
