The amnesia trope is such a cop out that authors use to bring drama, I literally hate it with my entire soul. Second chance romance only works if the reason for the breakup is not that big of a deal as time goes by, but not serious topics like domestic violence, i get angry if thats the case. Childhood friends to lovers, beyond obsessed, literally transcends all tropes!!

My fav tropes are enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers, marriage of convenience/fake dating, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine and recently I've been LOVING single parent and found family trope. I don't like a lot of forbidden romances if it's like brother's best friend or best friend's brother or teacher and I hateee love triangles. I also love mafia books but if there is kidnapping I'm out I just can't do it.

I absolutely hate enemies to lovers. If it's written well, then I enjoy it, but most authors can't execute it realistically. The hatred they have in the beginnings always feels forced, and then you're telling me that they fall in love with someone they hate within a few days? Absolutely not. I don’t understand why I feel so different between sibling’s best friend and best friend’s sibling but I do! I think there is some sort of double standards when I think of sibling’s best friend = 99% mine = a very good story When I think of best friend’s sibling = the kissing booth = a very bad Story Like I literally don’t see the difference it’s almost like different POV but in the second one they always do the best friend so dirty and the disregard their feelings like it’s nothing. While I think in the first one the sibling’s best friend is mindful of the fact it might hurt them???

I hate love triangles but the only time I can maybe stomach it is if the author plans another book with the “leftover” person finding their happily ever after. I can’t except anything else. For second chance romance, I’m not really into it unless it’s about a separated husband and wife or divorced couple, just because seeing them fall in love again hits different.
