Hi! With the shelve being able to almost take a second layer of books, you can get book risers to put the books on and have books in the front and still see the back row. Just take note of the shelved weight limits and find ways to reinforce the shelves to be stronger.

Best of luck with the move Claire! It’s 100% true that you can always go back to visit - I’ve just come back from 2 nights in Dublin where I went to college (and like that, was a bit sad to leave though I love Galway) and I really must do it more. London will always be there and maybe you’ll have a tiny bit more money to enjoy experiences when you do go down 😊

I noticed the nonfiction Tudor books you have. I have really enjoyed your videos in which you talk about them. Can you recommend some Tudor fiction? I did read Hilary Mantel’s series twice. When I was younger, I read every Jean Plaidy book I could find. I read Norah Lofts, Alison Weir’s fiction and Philippa Gregory as well. I am an American so Tudor fiction can be hard to find sometimes, but I am more than willing to order them from the UK.
@Claire_Fenby10 ай бұрын
I don't tend to read much historical fiction (other than the authors you've already mentioned) to be honest as I tend to read more non-fiction but I can recommend Elizabeth Fremantle!

@@Claire_Fenby Thank you. I will check into this author. I was devastated when Hilary Mantel died because she wrote such vivid characters in the Wolf Hall trilogy.

I’ve noticed a lot of people moving away from London and around the London area up to by us up here in Liverpool .. it’s very bizarre hearing a London accent and seeing so many people from there up here now but it goes to show the prices are just too much for people now .. The only thing that is worrying now is that so many people are moving up here and buying houses and renting and now the locals are struggling even more to get a house or in a flat because of the people who have left London and are stuck on the waiting list for even longer .. it’s a tricky situation and honestly worrying because it just seems like there isn’t enough homes for people and wages cannot keep up with the cost of living and taxes and rent. Me and my fiancé are stuck in a 1 bedroom flat for the past 7 years and we can’t move due to it being so expensive but our flat is always going up in price every year .. it’s a very worrying time and I feel for all of us. Best of luck to you both truly.

London is a city where the majority of people who live here moved here for work or uni etc so I think it’s natural that a lot of people will move back or go elsewhere after a certain amount of time. As you said, the real issue is the housing market and lack of good, affordable housing rather than who is buying the houses. It’s very easy to think that it’s people from different places are the issue rather than the system we’re all stuck in! I’m lucky that all my family are up north (including in Yorkshire) so my support system and roots are all here but it’s very different for so many people without that especially as rent prices soar. Thinking of you too!

📦you both have such a funny sense of humour, it puts a smile on my face!! i hope you get to move soon and into the house you want! i think a lot of growing up is accepting that change is okay and honestly priorities change, as a teen i would never understand anyone wanting to leave London but nowadays i 100% see why people just want a way more affordable place. it's the old saying "it's not you it's me" with London isn't it?
